Pros? This is absolutely a beautiful game. The colors, artwork, and music are top notch.
My main gripes? I am a "casual" player (that's always my difficulty choice), however, didn't have much fun playing this game. I play games a little each night so it's crucial to have a map and a reminder of objectives since I play in small sessions.
In this game, the journal is broken into several parts and map is incredibly frustrating since you have "objective" areas highlighted on the map with nothing to do in that scene. I spent a lot of the game clicking the hint button to find out where I was supposed to go next.
I also didn't feel like the use of the inventory items was always logical. And, with no map to remind you which items were still pending (and where they were), I found the game more frustrating than fun.
Rescue a young girl from the Penumbra Motel. Solve puzzles, unravel a long standing mystery of death and disappearances in this heart-pounding adventure game!
Wow! The graphics are awesome, the gameplay is smooth, the actors are great...wow! The broken down motel makes for a nice change from the usual "haunted manor" type of games. I also love the incorporation of the war films in the game. I'm only about an hour in so far, but I wanted to take a moment to encourage anyone "on the fence" about this one to go ahead and buy it. I don't think you'll be disappointed!
This was my first ND game and the one that got me hooked. I loved the environment, characters, puzzles, and minigames. I spent nights awake trying to master dance moves (in catsuit, of course) and replayed the minigame Scopa many times.
I think whether you like many ND games depends on whether you are interested in learning about whatever environment Nancy is immersed in. This is a great game, so if Carnival, chess, or Italy are of interest to you, don't pass on this one.
I am really enjoying this game! The graphics are great, the music is pleasant, and the puzzles are fun without being overly challenging. One of the things I like best is that you use the objects you collect relatively quickly, so there isn't a whole lot of traipsing around trying to remember which room had the box that you now have the key for! Playing the "enchanted" and "unenchanted" versions of the scenes was also a nice twist.
Overall, it's a lovely game - familiar in some ways, but different enough to be interesting and intriguing enough to keep you playing.
This game has the mechanics of Megaplex Madness with a football theme. There's enough that is different and unique about the game - Bea catching footballs or entertaining to keep the patience of fans - to give it a different feel. Like the MM games, there are minigames that earn you extra coins for upgrades and even these are different and kind of fun.
Overall, I think it's a fun - and uniquely themed - game. If you like the Megaplex Madness games, it's definitely worth a try!
Wow! I don't have much to add to so many already positive reviews other than to agree that the puzzles were creative, fun, and fresh. I confess I tend to use the "Skip" button in HOGs, but this is one game where even I played each puzzle through.
The game is a lot of fun and the atmosphere is beautifully created. This is a game you're going to love.
I was excited to see a new Coffee Rush! I love the Match 3-for-food games.Unfortunately, I was disappointed that the characters are (mostly) the same and that the "shop" is almost indistinguishable from the previous games. I had a hard time navigating the upgrades section and getting back to the map. Also, I played through a fair amount of the game in the demo time (which never happens with me!).
Overall, I think it's a pretty disappointing installment in the series.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.
So, I haven't finished the game yet (far from it!), but I am loving it! It's inventive and creative and all the other things we've come to expect in a MCF game.
I have found that I'm a little different from other MCF fans. I like my games to be challenging but not overwhelmingly so. Return to Ravenhurst was too complicated for me to really get into and, although I tried, I didn't enjoy playing the 13th Skull (especially not with that one character yelling "Move, detective!" over and over while I was trying to figure out what to do next). For me, at least, this installment really brings the fun back into the series. It's the right mix of adventure and morphing object scenes and the different "acts" of the game keep the environment fresh and interesting. The strategy guide in the CE is helpful and it's great to have the option of skipping puzzles.
All-in-all, it's a great game. If you're a bit squeamish (like me), take the "warning" seriously. The atmosphere ranges from creepy to downright unsettling!
It's great to see that MCF can still elevate the genre to a new level.
What an awesome game! I play a lot of HOGs and this has to be one of my favorites of the year. I was expecting another run-of-the-mill (yet entertaining) "haunted/abandoned town" type game. The game was a pleasant surprise. It had some unique elements and a great story with exciting twists and turns. I loved the creepiness of that tolling bell (which plays a big part in the story). Just a very well made game.
