Loved everything about this game. Grandma really got it right. Excellent visuals, A wide variety of HOPS and puzzles, some puzzles a little easy, but the design was enjoyable anyway. I especially liked that the useful objects and activities involving them, as well as the HOPs and puzzles, all made sense within the context of the story.
Before replaying Crossfade, I went back to The Black Veil and The Harbinger, which I had only played once. Would highly recommend replaying those two plus Madame Fate, Broken Hour and Ravenhearst if you don't remember those well. Crossfade enhanced my enjoyment of these games, and refreshing my memory about the earlier games greatly enhanced my enjoyment of Crossfade.
Grandma seems to just get better and better!
I recommend this game!

I enjoyed every bit of this game. It didn't often strain my brain, but kept me entertained and thinking, which is the difficulty level I prefer.
I agree with comments from other positive reviewers. There is a lot of content to this game and its fun to find references to other MCF games throughout. I like both puzzles and HOPs and the quantity and variety of both is excellent. Beautiful artwork and colors. This is especially true of the bonus chapter. I wanted to walk through those mystic woodsy glades.
Its always a big plus for me when the the game lets you check to see how many special objects you are looking for and have found. As for the door puzzles, had I not read reviews I might have been disappointed by the absence of Rube Goldberg style puzzles. Since I was prepared, I found that the full page puzzles were still lots of fun.
Would recommend this game to anyone who is willing to enjoy a bit of a different look to the series. I won't mind however, if the next entry is a little harder.
I recommend this game!

Complex music, colorful but easy-on-the-eyes artwork, interesting plot and characters, lots of neat mechanical things. Difficulty level just right for me, not too easy but not so hard I start skipping things in frustration. Several recipe style puzzles, which I really enjoy. After finishing the game you can go back to find missed morphs and collectibles, always a plus. Would love to drink wine with Eleanor in her underwater home. Failing that, would have settled for using this setting as wallpaper, but alas, it wasn't offered. I'm fine with monsters and demons, but its also a pleasure to have a peaceful game that isn't silly. Well, the theater and animals with costumes are kind of silly but I liked them too.
I recommend this game!

Echoing everything everybody else has said. Relaxing, fun, family friendly, loaded with a great variety of puzzles that are challenging enough to be fun but not so tough you can't move on fairly quickly to the next scene. Buy the game and hope for a snow day so you can spend a lovely long day repairing and upgrading your amusement park. There is so much to this game!

Just searched for Picket Fences hoping to find out there is a sequel - no such luck! Come on developers, this is a winner. Hours of fun and yes, I do get annoyed with the neighbors and call them names. I am not too fond of the "screw the neighbors" aspect of some levels and would like to have some of those features as options. Love that each level has slightly different rules so there are different strategies for each one. Good music and characters. Garage Sale is my favorite level.
I recommend this game!

Have played this over and over again. Levels move quickly from tutorial easy to very hard to beat. Getting to build the city from the ground up and gain in status is much more fun that just collecting points.
There are some M3 games where after a match you have to wait for all of the tiles to fall before you can make your next move (Jewel Quest), which means matches you are setting up are often swept off the board before you can use them. I don't play those. Cradle of Rome lets you keep making matches as things are falling, much more entertaining and strategic in my book.
I would like to give it 4 1/2 stars. There are several things I don't like. Once you have reached Olympus there is no more point to collecting points except to achieve a higher score. The graphic scenes behind the M3 levels are lovely and the only time you get to see them in full is a brief glimpse when you have completed a puzzle. I'd like a slideshow of them. And if there is a way to go back to see your previous high scores I haven't found it.
I recommend this game!

The other reviewers have said it all. Unique, fun, a great blend of several game types. Would love to see a whole Cave Quest series and other games with the same varied format.
