I have enjoyed the series since the beginning. The graphics are stunning, the game play is challenging (especially the puzzles), & the HO scenes are novel. The story line was a little predictable, but it didn't take away from the game play at all. I had to skip some of the puzzles, but that may be just the way my brain works! A fun & challenging game.
It took me a few levels to get into this game. I was starting to regret my purchase. Eventually the game play started & it was challenging enough that I became intrigued. A predictable storyline, very similar to the previous incarnations. The video quality is low res, but the hidden object scenes were difficult & interesting. I didn't like that I was unable to skip the voice overs. Access to the Zem game levels was, I felt, overly difficult to access. There was a hint that there may be another episode. Unless they can write a different plot, I hope not.
The game opens slowly, & I almost lost interest. But I stuck it out through the first 5 minutes of build-up & then it got interesting. The story line is not original, but the story was well told. I especially liked the woodcut styled silhouette artwork used in the cut scenes. There is no strategy guide, but the question mark button gives you the full solution to each puzzle. There were several hours of game play. I quite enjoyed the addition of the broken game pieces.
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
While not on par with some of the previous MCF games, & definitely not as freaky as Escape From Ravenhearst, this was still an enjoyable game. The puzzles were a little "easy", no skipping necessary on Expert level. I did have to refer to the Strategy Guide more than once, mostly because I missed something along the way. The matching pictures to existing scenes was a little different, as were the live action "jigsaw" puzzles during the psychic vision scenes. I don't generally enjoy live action actors in games, but Lea Thompson pulled off a slightly over-the-top psychic consultant with panache. Lots of morphing objects to find, & if you don't find them all during game play, you can go back after & complete the task. Also, the interactive map made maneuvering around the game much faster & easier. Overall, not my favourite MCF, but still worth the CE.
I recommend this game!

I have played this game to completion more than once. The puzzles (there are 7 kinds, one for each god or goddess of the pantheon) are fun & challenging (thank goodness for youtube!) & addictive. The graphics are crisp, the voice over is informative, & I love the Egyptian theme. Extension Saqpaqs for more levels are available online as well. Great fun for all ages! Hours & hours of game play!
The HOS were great, but the cutscenes were clunky & the animation was second rate. The characters looked like bad CG from the early 90's. There is a lot of unnecessary info lying around. I found the puzzles challenging enough that I actually skipped a couple. The story sometimes goes out of its way to shock the player, which at one point creeped me out in a bad way. The ending is also disappointing. Bought it during the Presidents Day sale, & glad I didn't pay full price. Buyer beware.
This game is a great combination of hidden object & match 3. The graphics are good, as is the soundtrack. I think I've replayed this game more than any other BFG I own! A definite must-buy :)
A mysterious fortune teller has foreseen her demise at midnight this very day. Can you find the soul who seeks to kill Madame Fate? You be the detective.
I loved the MCF games since I first played Huntsville. I eagerly await each new release. The game play for Madame Fate is greatly improved over even Ravenhearst. I especially like that you no longer have to wait for each object to fly into your satchel before collecting the next one. The "boss" puzzles are sufficiently challenging, especially as you reach higher levels. All in all, an awesome game!
I recommend this game!

I don't usually play time management games, but I will play this one over & over again. The graphics are good, but the music is a little repetitive. All in all, a very enjoyable game.
