I enjoy solitaire games, but most of them offered get boring after a bit (build the castle, feed the peasants, whatever). This one is more straight forward and I've lost count of how many times I've replayed it! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed!!
I had done the demo and wasn't all that impressed with the game. But when the sale was offered today, I decided to go ahead and purchase.
I'm glad I did, as it was fun and I really enjoyed the storyline. My biggest complaint would be the visual quality was lacking a bit. The accents were pretty decent I thought and the games just challenging enough to keep me interested without making me throw my hands up in defeat. Being stuck in the house on St. Paddy's Day, at least I got to play an Irish game. Give this game a chance!
My biggest complaint about this game is that it ended all too quickly. I don't mean it is a short game, but I was enjoying it and didn't want it to end! On the whole it isn't too difficult, but holds your attention. The story is interesting and intriguing, which doesn't happen for me all that often. The graphics are crisp and clear and the characters are interesting looking (not the usual cookie cutter look). I recommend this game!
Normally, I'm not huge into the stories that drive the games. This one was different. It made me care about the outcome and also interested to see what next twist and turn the story would take.
The puzzles were clever (sometimes on the edge of too clever for my brain) and the hidden object scenes were challenging. The only tiny complaint I have, is sometimes the visuals were a little dark, making it harder to find and do things.
I haven't even played the bonus game yet, because I felt the need to come here and praise the developers!
Black Crown is now one of my all time favorites! Thanks!!
Not only is this a nice long game, but there are tons of things to do. For people who enjoy HO puzzles, you will be more than satisfied. If you like other kinds of puzzles, again, you will be happy.
Not only did I enjoy the puzzles and the challenge, but the story was good and kept me caring about the outcome.
Occasionally, I found the scenes a little dark, but that may be my monitor, not the game.
Be prepared to spend some time with this game, because it lasts a nice long time.
While I will agree with the others, that the game runs a little short (especially the Bonus game which was over in no time at all, it seemed) I still recommend the game.
I loved the story line and the puzzles and HO scenes were good as I've come to expect from Mad Head games. The graphics and sound are excellent. For once, I didn't have a ton of problems finding the random morphing object in each scene (when I remembered to look for them).
They are one of my favorite developers and just because this game was on the short side, my mind hasn't changed about that.
While playing this game I would get so frustrated (trying to figure out a puzzle or whatever) that I would turn off the game for awhile. Then later, BAM! My brain would wake up with a new idea of what to do, and I'd head back in. Very satisfying in the long run. So, for me, this wasn't all that easy - - but it was totally worth the effort. I hope others enjoy it as much as I did.
I will definitely be purchasing this game. The graphics are very good, The HO's are challenging but well done. I had to skip one of the puzzles, but that's just because I suck at that particular type of puzzle.
I am looking forward to the rest of the story and saving the day!
Not sure why so many have panned this game? I found it to be better than average, with an interesting story line. A few of the puzzles irked me, but that is on me, not the developers. The game is a good length with a bonus chapter that is also fun. The HO's were on the whole very easy to navigate.
I don't really understand why others aren't enjoying this game! The only bad thing I have to say about it, is the bonus game is very short.
The graphics are good and I really enjoyed the story/plot of the game. The puzzles on the whole are pretty easy, but still enjoyable. I think there may have been fewer than the usual HO scenes, but I don't really keep close track of that. The game ran smoothly. One thing I really like about Mad Head, is they allow you (once the game is finished) to go back to the scenes and find the symbols and morphs you missed while playing. I tend to miss quite a few, as I am into the actual game play and forget to look for them. But I do like being able to go back and find them after the game is finished. Give it a try!!
