I was asked to play the beta test for the sequel to this game and enjoyed it so much I decided to buy this one with my current game credit. I had passed it by many times because it looked like the usual macabre themed games and I get really tired of all the doom & gloom graphics. I can say this was a refreshing change, the graphics were very good, light & airy and the game flows pretty smoothly. There's the usual back tracking between scenes but it isn't overdone. I did play in the casual mode to get a feel for the way the game flows but think I still could have done it just as quickly in the expert mode. The only time I needed hints was usually because the object was very small and tucked down behind something else.
I would have given the game 5* except for one thing - it just didn't seem long enough. From the amount of paintings on the wall, I was expecting at least 3-4 more before the game was done. I finished it in about 4 hours, taking my time in each scene to make sure I had everything covered. I read a few reviews in the Forum that said the CE had an extra scene the regular version doesn't but I don't think it's worth shelling out an extra $7 just for that. Other than that, it's a good game for all ages to enjoy!
I recommend this game!

I was hesitant to buy this game because after playing the original Farmscapes - only to find all three games were the same - I wondered if this one would be the same. I'm glad I did buy it because it is more like the Mansion Makeover series where the whole game is devoted to fixing up & repairing the farm. The little mini quests added a bit of a change up in the regular search scenes and the story line followed through. I had a lot more fun playing this game and recommend it highly to anyone.

First, I read all the other reviews and didn't find the graphics fuzzy at all although like previously noted, some of the objects were obscured or there was more than one to pick from so you had to try them all. Some of the wizard's mini game puzzles were fairly easy to figure out but others were not and no explanations were given to help. I played the first time in casual mode as the female detective so I might try a second time as the male detective to see if it plays any differently in the harder format. I didn't pay too much attention to the music but had it turned down lower so it didn't interfere with something else I was listening to at the time. I'm far from an expert and did use the hints occasionally as needed but for the most part didn't have too much trouble picking out the right objects. The bonus brick breaker game at the end was pretty cool as the levels got harder to finish.
If I had to fault the game on anything, it was just too short & the ending seemed flat. The chapters were short with the wizard games after each one and the story in between was about average. It was nice to not play one of those dark and dreary horror HOGs that seem so popular now - if that's not your cup of tea, this is one the whole family can play.
I recommend this game!

OK, I have both Gardenscapes and Fishdom games, loved them both so I thought this one might be a good one to try. The match 3's keep getting harder and a couple of times got downright hard to get those odd spots collected until you can place a bomb close enough to clear it. Like Gardenscapes & Fishdom, you have to earn enough money to buy upgrades to the farm and only 3 choices per item. The story line is good, with the small farmers winning out over the huge mega mall so it keeps it interesting. At the end of the first part - 100 levels - you are done and go on to a new farm to rebuild and upgrade. This is where it fails as it has you do the very same farm all over again and repeating yourself three times seems like a waste of time and energy. If this game has three sections then why not set it up like Fishdom and have three entirely different themes so that each farm is unique from the other instead of just good, better & best choices of the same items for each one. That's why I only gave it a 4 rating overall although it is a good game if they had just made it more expanded like Gardenscapes or themed like Fishdom.
I recommend this game!

I read the other reviews first but decided to buy this game anyway as I like sequels for the most part. It was much quicker to solve than the first two Snark Busters episodes, in all I think I finished in about 4 hours where All Revved Up took me about 8 hours to untangle and a glitch in Welcome to the Club had me restarting before I could finish it. I generally play in relaxed mode first to get a feel for the game and I really liked this one. I only gave it a 4 on Visuals / Sound because of the out of sync sound with the character's animation AND the lack of the steam punk music background in the first two episodes. To me, the music set the pace and kept things lively in the background. It was even nicer to be able to buy it on a special holiday discount! When downloading, be aware it is a very large file - my Game Manager had it at 593.3MB and it took a while even on DSL..
I recommend this game!

I first started playing Unwell Mel at Big Fish Games, then at Big Sea Games until it closed down. I looked forward to my daily dose of Mel's latest malady & couldn't wait to come back for another round. When the online site closed I had to have it so I bought the game and played it through. It is long, as someone else said, 300 levels and many hours of trying to cure Mel of his ills only to see him relapse when presented his bill for services. It's a true Match 3 game in all the senses and one the whole family can play for hours of fun or just to pass the time if you're a night owl like me. It's one of a few I would keep on my desktop just to play for the fun of it.
I recommend this game!

It's been a bit since I played this game but I remember it well. It started out simply but as you got further down the game and the farm became more developed the levels got harder to finish. There were a couple times I got stuck trying to make enough matches in the time allowed in order to move on but keep trying - if I can make it, you can too! The little mini games are fun and a welcome break from the intensity of the match 3's - find the sheep & birds hidden on the farm, catch the flying birds & shearing the sheep as they run by, which also becomes more difficult as you move up in levels. The little mini games add bonus points to each level so the more you find/shear the better for you.The storyline is cute and you find yourself sympathetic to the poor farmer because every time he thinks he's got a minute to rest a bit, the kids or wife come up with a new job for him to do. He starts out with an almost bare farm & you help him build orchards, vegetable plots, sheep barns and even a new house for the wife. The music is catchy and it's a game the whole family can play with long hours of fun. I'd love to see a sequel to this one!

Once I figured out the last puzzle at the end, I really liked this game. It's light, fast paced and no back tracking like many of the other HOGs. There are some sticky spots, enough to keep you interested but not totally discourage from moving to the next level, the hints button is a bit slow but in the meantime you can pick up a missed object while it recharges. There was an error in the last puzzle but I've posted the correction on the forum. Most of the trials were easy enough but if you didn't want to do them there was an alternate HO scene you could do instead. Be warned, at the last puzzle if you leave without finishing a level it will reset & you'll have to start over and redo the ones already completed. I finished most of it in one night and came back the next afternoon to try to complete the last level when I found the error, after that it was a quick finish. Overall, it's a good family type game without any occult overtones other than sneering villains out to get the invention.
One thing I didn't like was the ferret. OK, he was cute but wasting time chasing him around was a bit overdone.
I recommend this game!

I liked this game, gardening without getting dirty lol! You run a giant yard sale room by room in order to get enough money to upgrade and build your garden. The pace can be a bit hectic at times trying to keep the customers happy. You only get three choices per item and some are a bit over the top but you can always go back & change them if you want later. It's a nice family type HOG, no dark & dreary scenes or evil characters which can be refreshing.
I recommend this game!

As HOGs go, it was . . OK, but just barely. Some of the items had to be clicked several times, especially those near the inventory bar before it registers. Some of the items were very obscure but I got most of them with an occasional use of the hints button - use wisely as it is slow to recharge. The mini puzzles were OK for the most part but the one failing I saw was a total lack of directions. Some were obvious like the Towers of Hanoi type with the books or the marble shuffle but there were a couple that I had no clue whatsoever and had to use the skip button. The Match the Differences scene had some very obscure clues and the skip button just kept resetting you back to the beginning so my advice there is just use the hint button and you'll be done quicker. The ending is a bit of a let down but it would leave it open for a sequel. I only spent $2.99 for this game on one of the daily deals and that's about what it was worth.
I recommend this game!
