We love this one! Consistent with their past efforts, the developing team as put together another package that is a magnet to our time. The graphics, speed of play, and soundtrack are second to none. The story line is witty and keeps us smiling to the very end. The level of challenge is great, though even the lowest level requires a certain degree of attention and steady hand. As far as we can tell, the key to finishing any level is patience and a commitment to "wait for it" (impulsive reactions will cost you a life every time.) Success on the more challenging levels can also be significantly improved by taking time to earn enough keys to open certain "unlockables": The Chicken Invader series has been a favorite in this household for a long time, and this latest edition has already claimed the title of "most requested game". To the team...WELL DONE! (and thanks!)
I own nearly all the PlayRex games and like them a lot (just not a fan of the 3 match variety). Like the Mansion games, this one is another HO that offers a reasonable challenge to spot objects without all the doom and gloom that is so prevalent in other search games. My only criticism with this one is to suggest that the testing phase of game development might have been a bit more thorough...this one had some misspellings (not counting those that were deliberately misspelled) and some objects were given inappropriate names. For example, a string of pendants was identified as "Christmas lights" and a "lid" was finally identified as an "[automobile] tire"...Uh??? But despite those few (but definite annoyances), I enjoy this game and do not regret purchasing it. As long as PlayRex continues producing games like this one, I'll keep buying them.
I liked this game from the start. The graphics were good, the scenes were bright and colorful, the storyline was adequate, the music and sound effects were pleasing. Much of the hidden objects were presented through association rather than the literal "seek" version. The voice-over was entertaining and the "Munchausen" character was thoroughly likeable. The level of play was average; the solution to the puzzles could usually be found after a moment of consideration. The only negative comment I can offer is that the story was much shorter than than I expected. There were only 5 or 6 "chapters", and each chapter could easily be played within a relatively brief period of time. Nevertheless, this was a welcome departure from the "gloom and doom" HO games that are the current standard and, if there were ever to be another "Munchausen" adventure, I would surely buy it. Overall, well done!
