I play a lot of Match 3 games, but I found it nearly impossible to play on "Normal" level. The number of limited moves was not possible for me to achieve. So I moved to "Easy" and I find I am not progressing enough in knowledge or wisdom to move on in the game. Maybe I just don't get it. I battle spiders and giant rats and dark clouds and meet (sort of stupid) characters and look for mushrooms and gold pieces. I just don't see the whole thing coming together.
I recommend this game!

I played the original Runefall twice. I really liked the characters and got swept away in the story. Now the characters seem rather flat and the story is not much...yet...but I remember the original took a bit of of gitty up to achieve its galloping level too, I like the "matching to explore" and there are additional challenges being added as I play. In my opinion there are so few original games these days, and this is one of the best. Give it a go and see if it's for you!
I recommend this game!

I've played Runefall twice (by the same developer and clearly of the same ilk.) Coincidentally I just played it again last week, and had no idea this game had arrived. I found Runefall great fun and a worthwhile brain teaser and time waster. But I am on the fence about SpelunKing. Once you work through the first seven or so levels it becomes easier, as it should. I kind of like the town and the merchants. But there is no story. I loved the story in Runefall--it kept me going to get those folks what they needed to survive and plan for the King's arrival. The voice acting in Runefall was very good. But here, in SpelunKing world, well, there is only Grandpa and he seems a bit doddering. But the whole deal killer for me is those infernal mini-games. You have to solve four per level and they are totally trial and error. I believe this game came first, before Runefall, and was released now as an afterthought.
I recommend this game!

I started to play this game on demo and was surprised how hard it was to get three stars. I liked the game engine and the graphics. I played with the tutorial and learned about the different aspects of the game...but they neglected to mention that you can use your coins to buy boosters! Go to the "trophy" page and click the shopping cart at the bottom. This makes the game more challenging...well not really challenging...but you can go after all trophies and earn more $$.
I recommend this game!

It's been a while since I downloaded a game from BF and played it for several hours. What fun this game is! Made me think and laugh while not taking itself (or me!) too seriously. The "one up one down" solitaire is fairly easy but I love the mini games and in particular the hiatus moments when you decide what to do...LOL...no spoilers. Give it a shot. I bought it after the trial and have no regrets.
I recommend this game!

...so obviously I like it more than other reviewers at this point. It is slow to get started. You don't know why you're collecting gold coins and you're not sure what the story is. After time, too long I admit, you find out that the gold coins buy boosters and you're looking for a treasure so you can win the prize--in this case, marriage to the king's daughter, who already happens to be your girlfriend. You are competing against a bad guy who apparently doesn't care diddly squat about the woman but wants to take over the empire. Anyway, there are lots of match-4 boosters to be obtained and obstacles to overcome, and as you progress the boards get harder to solve. I had no technical problems with the game and the graphics are bright and cheerful.
I recommend this game!

I felt compelled to review this game because I am enjoying it, and I felt the other low reviews may detract others from trying it. Every level is a challenge. The tutorial at the start tells you everything you need to know, but the only way I found to access it a second time is to start another player profile. That way you can watch the tutorial again, which makes more sense after you've played!, and return to your original profile and game. The chains can be a bit clunky to form, but once you get the hang of it it's ok. This game is all strategy, which I welcome. Give it a try!
I recommend this game!

I love the puzzles. Most are a bit easy but on occasion you reach one that makes you think. Hidden object scenes are somewhat boring, but then again I do not care for HOP. Story is kinda stupid. Still--puzzles! Play for the puzzles and eye candy!
A step above most of the other hidden object adventure games, and a steal at this price.
I recommend this game!

I don't buy a lot of these HOP games, although I've been a Big Fish member for ten years or more. I loved the early ones that made you think, like Ravenhearst and Return to Ravenhurst. Now almost all HOP games have been dumbed down to a non-thinking level, and if you want to play in your sleep, you can use a hint.
That said, I recently found myself in the unusual place of lying in a hospital bed due to a foot infection. Eek! Wanting to pass the time, I downloaded this game. It kept my interest. The puzzles were fun. The graphics were colorful. It was not particularly challenging but there were times I scratched my head, wondering what to do next. Hidden object searches seem particularly stupid to me, but I tolerated the ones here.
I guess the reason I write this review is to dispute some of the frequent reviewers who play and tear apart every game, and look for numbers of hidden object scenes, which puzzles, etc. It is my view that these games are pretty much all the same. When one is in a position to download one, you can shop around but you most probably won't get anything significantly different from the others. Mad Games started off different, then fell into line with the other. Ditto Elephant earlier and many others. Perhaps the genre is getting old, or perhaps one is not really meant to download and purchase every single game offered.
I recommend this game!

Same general idea as Runefall but not as challenging and, to me, not as fun. There is not a lot to figure out other than plodding along from screen to screen. I would guess MatchVentures came before Runefall, but who knows. I bought this game but do not think I will play it much more. On the flip side, I finished Runefall over many many days of play.
I recommend this game!
