While it is nice to have a word game a few changes would have made this much better. Like other reviewers I found it mildly annoying that there was no female character. Some of the words seem only to have a remote connection with the category they supposedly represent. But my main complaint is the time it takes for the screen to flash and the transition between each level. Makes it drag.
This has always been a great series and I think this one may be the best yet. While the basic gameplay is the same as in Campgrounds 4 there are some new innovations which add to the variety and the ways to play. The market allows you to buy food, supplies and seeds and also boosts (I prefer that to the Shaman of the earlier series). The farm allows you to grow food quickly if you have seeds. On some levels there are tree plantations to cut down which then provide supplies.
As with 4 and 1 there are map pieces to find which then lead to a further campsite. If there is a downside it is that it gets very difficult to get gold even playing at normal on some levels. But the rest of it makes up for this.
A welcome return - but persevere if it seems difficult

I was so glad to see Build a Lot back. At first I found this one too hard and the timer too short but then that is the fun of the game - you have to figure out the strategy. Which is different as you progress through the levels and gives it the challenge. The gnome is irritating but you only have to click on him once per level and then he does not reappear. Not sure if I will be able to manage getting the bonus challenge as well as the main goals but I find just going for the main goals satisfying enough. Really enjoying it.
Brilliant game - with some different game play to earlier Campgrounds

One of my favourite series - and this latest game does not disappoint. A truly brilliant game is one you want to replay and while I have not yet finished I am sure I will be doing that.
If you know the series note that there are some differences in game play to earlier Campgrounds. So the challenge is different. The main thing is that in addition to a factory and a greenhouse you now have a food truck. That costs some money to build but once built you just send someone to it to generate food. But to get supplies from the factory you now need food not money. You need both food and supplies to build a house so you have to plan to ensure you have both - but just supplies to upgrade the house. You can also get food in some levels from bushes or from gardens when they are added to houses.
Other differences are that you can choose to build a Shaman laboratory once this becomes available (and use the boost when you can pay for it) and you can only upgrade everything once. As other reviewers have noticed you don't shoot animals - instead, when they appear (quite late on in the main story) you feed them to get rid of them. In most levels you can find a piece of a map and when you have all the pieces for one section you put them together to make a map and this gives you access to an extra level - if you remember the first campgrounds it works the same.
Otherwise you generate seeds from a greenhouse as normal (using money) and you plant things on the indicated spots or add gardens to houses to generate eco points; you build playgrounds and run events on them to generate happiness among campers.
My only concern is whether it is going to get too difficult. So far I have been playing at normal level and am only getting silver in the later levels even after using the strategy guide. I enjoy replaying the levels and trying to better my previous score but like to feel I will eventually get gold.
As with earlier Campgrounds, you are taught new features clearly as they are introduced. The CE has 20 bonus levels in addition to the main play and the "secret" levels you discover through the maps. But the real joy of this series is the variety in the goals you have to achieve so that it never gets boring.
Lovely surprise to find another Campgrounds. The same format as before but with one or two new twists making it probably the best so far. I have really enjoyed playing this - the level of challenge is just right. I finally managed to get gold on all the games in the main part - after several tries and a look at the guide in some cases. Gold on some of the challenges still eludes me but I it continues to be fun trying. Hope we do not have to wait as long for series 4!

This is a fantastic game in many ways. Great ideas, varying challenges, excellent graphics definitely a whole cut above most time management games. Playing the first levels I thought "how great" and would have given it six stars.
But... I love a challenge and the best time management games always have a few levels on which it is really hard to get gold or three stars or whatever. But not so many on which it seems impossible to get any stars at all! And the ceaseless attacks just get wearying and spoil the fun.
Such a pity. This could have been a fantastic game that one would play and replay. Just like the first one. I shall struggle on and finish it and maybe replay some of the levels to see if I can improve my score but I doubt that it will be one of those real favourites that I play and replay.

As others have said, if you like Royal Envoy or MKFTP type games tyou will enjoy this. While basically the gather resources, build buildings type it has a lot of variety. You can play it first on normal mode and then again on expert mode for an additional difficulty. Good graphics and for me just the right amount of challenge.
I enjoyed the first campgrounds and so far am finding this one even better. Thankfully you can collect coins just by mouseing over so the endless repetitive clicking that spoilt the first one for me is no more. You can play in an untimed version but if you play timed and don't get gold you can achieve at silver or bronze levels too. Which is good since while I have only got to level 20 it is clear that some levels are pretty tough.
Obviously a lot of people like this but I found it irritating. I love MKFTP and Royal Envoy type games but this was just too saccharine with the donkeys and everything - for me it passed the boundary from being amusing to being annoying. Disliked the fussy graphics too.
So I am unlikely to buy it. Much prefer Green City which I have recently bought.
I don't recommend this game.

This is fast becoming one of my favourite time management games even though I am only about half way through it. It's fun and challenging. You can play it as timed to get gold or silver but also as untimed. It's quite hard to get gold and even silver on some levels so I can see myself playing it through and then going back to try to up my score on the more challenging levels. So definite replay value. You need different strategies for different levels which is good,
If you like the build-a-lot type games this is, in my view, an excellent example of the genre. Graphics are nice and clear too.
