I have all the Rescue Team games and could play them in my sleep, so I bought this game without bothering with the demo. Whew, what a difference! It took me a couple of tries to get the hang of it, but once I did I found I really enjoyed it. Much more strategy than the run-around-and-collect-stuff mechanics of the other Rescue Team games, and you really have to THINK with this one! I highly recommend "relaxed" mode to give yourself time to do everything and plan. I'm enjoying this Rescue Team immensely and hope the developers will stick to this format in the future; much more fun!

I purchased the CE version of this game despite the so-so reviews, and I find I'm enjoying it! Nora, a medal-winning Olympic figure skater, ends up in the town where her idol, a former famous skater, lived and where she meets the townsfolk and solves their problems and a few of her own. Your job is to solve puzzles and help her find the things she needs. The storyline is lightweight, but the gameplay is well thought out and frustration free, and the graphics are cute. The game helpfully labels each puzzle with its difficulty, from simple no-challenge to "hard" and "super hard." Fortunately, there's a handy skip button if you get stuck. The puzzles mostly give no directions, so it's up to you to figure out what to do and how to do it to arrive at the solution. This is a great play-together family game, with the simplest levels being perfect for young children with a little help. I like it and I hope you will too!

I enjoyed this game for what it is, but finally got very frustrated by the glitches and had to bail on the demo. I play with my display settings on 125%, which usually isn't an issue for most games. For this, however, I had to exit and reset to 100%--very annoying, since I would have to do this every time. Also, selecting some of the different colors, especially in more complex pictures such as the butterfly, required many, many clicks and sometimes even exiting and reentering to make it work. Other painting tools didn't work consistently either. Cute concept shot down by its lack of quality control.

This is a fun solitaire game and includes three modes of solitaire: golf, matching, and match 14, a variation on match 13. My problem is that it tends to crash a lot. Not sure what the problem is, but I can count on it crashing two or three times during a playing session. Fortunately you do not lose anything when it crashes and it starts up right where you left off, but it's a pain to have to restart the game so many times. Hopefully a patch will come along to fix this. Otherwise, a good game.
This game started out well, and I usually enjoy "intense psychological thriller(s) intended for mature audiences." But as soon as I got to the part where we're hanging women for adultery, I was done. As a woman, I don't find anything even remotely "fun" about this story line. As a long-time Big Fish customer, I expect better.
I don't recommend this game.

Dark Dimensions: Homecoming Collector's Edition
For years, Barton Mansion sat abandoned, a haunting reminder of an obsession gone wrong. But something sinister still lurked there...and it's stirring.

What a fun game! The exteriors of the evil mansion and parts of the storyline remind me of the real-life Winchester Mystery House near San Jose, CA. Sarah Winchester, a widow who had also lost her infant daughter, was told by a medium that she would be haunted forever by the ghosts of all the people killed by the Winchester rifles her husband had manufactured unless she continued to build a house for the rest of her life.
She purchased an unfinished 8-room house in 1884 and by the time she died in 1922 it numbered 160 rooms and was still unfinished. In order to confuse the evil spirits, the house contains such features as stairs that lead to the ceiling, doors that go nowhere and that open onto walls, and chimneys that stop just short of the roof. And while I didn't see any evil red vines when I visited, the house is still very spooky indeed!
This game is definitely a purchase for me! Great graphics and animations, terrific music and voice acting, and more complex gameplay than your average HOG. Bring us more like this, Big Fish!
I recommend this game!

Interesting but frustrating game unless you feel like spending lots of money on in-game purchases. Game play is OK for a HOG, although repetitive. Each location locks up for about 30 min. after one use, so you'll only get about 15 min. of free game time unless you want to spend money. So don't expect to progress much unless you want to pony up the funds! I certainly hope this isn't the future of casual gaming!
