I love adventure games like this, where there are no hidden object scenes and you're sort of left to your own devices to figure things out. I loved that there was some kind of underlying mystery that I was working towards solving while playing and that there were so many different environments to explore.
My beef with this game is the ending. The ending completely ruined the entire game for me. I don't want to spoil anything, but I wish that in this instance we were left with a choice as to how it would end (like the game Journey to the Center of the Earth). However, it was very sad. I also disliked the fact that there was a black leopard throughout the game that seemingly had a crucial role but after a certain point, it seemed as though it didn't matter anymore. The final thing about the ending is that there's a short cutscene to end the game and that's it. It just stops. No insight as to what happened afterwards or what the main character went on to do or how any of the people in the game ended up or anything. This, I feel, is usually my biggest disappointment with adventure games like this (aside from the Nancy Drew games, they always leave you with something upon completion). Great game to play for the scenery and difficulty, and it lasts a while too! However, I found it to be an extreme disappointment overall.
This is definitely a game for HOG extremists. I could only play for about 30 minutes of the trial because once you think you're done with one list of things to find, you get 10 seconds of dialogue and BOOM another one.....again and again and again. I loved the scenery and the miniscule amount of storyline that the dialogue seemed to offer, but it just seemed to drag on far too much for me. In my opinion, this game shouldn't be in the Adventure section whatsoever. It's clear that it's strictly Hidden Object, which isn't a bad thing by any means, but when you're an adventure-lover like me, games like this totally throw you off.
Green Moon was a little confusing at first, but once I got the hang of the navigating and handling of objects, I had a lot of fun playing this game! Whenever I play an adventure game, the first thing on my mind is the scenery and Green Moon had plenty of it! Not only do you get to travel to different locations in your current time period, but you get to travel to other eras as well, which was my favorite part. It exhibited a massive amount of diversity. There are mini-games that can be a little tricky, but they're not TOO difficult, making it a great game for a family to play together. I also love that it's not one of those games that is impossible to fail. There are ways you can "die", but your game autosaves after important parts so you don't have to start all over again. The only thing I would've changed about it is audio dialogue and the fact that the ending is very abrupt. You complete the last task, it shows a cutscene, but then there's no story explaining what happens after you achieve your overall goal. I recommend this game to adventure & mystery lovers with a curious mind!
