The game was awesome until I hit the glitch after rescuing Kai. Now there are no new quests. Can switch between two heroes now, but the dungeon is locked and says entrance not found. But the entrance was already found further back. So caught in a glitch loop with no way to proceed.
Will change my 1 star review if the glitch is fixed.

I don't recommend this game.

I am not going to pretend this is as groundbreaking and amazing as, say, Royal Envoy was when it first came out. But this game is at least on par with the other Hercules games, which I like.
I am not as impressed with the story line, the creators took some creative chances and in my opinion missed the mark a little bit.
Per some other reviews, I guess if you can't handle blowing up pretend cartoon animals as one minor component of a game, then this game is not for you. Otherwise, if you liked the other games in the series, then this one should be given a try.

I recommend this game!
The Unexpected Quest is an adventure game with unique strategy and time management elements.

Loved this. A few glitches caused freeze ups, but regular saving of the game kept those rare occurrences from being an issue.
Loved the story and the game play. The chapters being so long to finish each is different than most other BF games, I liked that.

This is great if you play through even once. But it is replayable a few times at least too. Challenging to the point where I needed a few hints from Google searches, but not impossible. The grinding for skills and equipment gets a little old at first, but with a few hints, it doesn't require as much grinding as the first time through.
I recommend this game!

This was one of the better time management strategy type games out there. Still near the top even though there are newer games out there now.
I recommend this game!
