I've grown so tired of the storylines with ghosts, demons, monsters, etc... So this game was a lot of fun: realistic characters (magicians), realistic setting (hotel), realistic story (murder mystery).
I'm not nearly as enthusiastic about my Big Fish account as I used to be, simply because I can't embrace the "fantasy" themes of the games ad nauseam.
But this one... terrific!
I recommend this game!

I recently had to cancel my Big Fish account for financial reasons, but I'm very pleased that the last game I played (for now) was this one.
There was an interesting storyline that slowly revealed a long-lost mystery, creepy characters and locations, and challenging puzzles. It also wasn't overloaded with HO puzzles, which I don't particularly like.
A lot of games end very abruptly once you've completed your final task, but this one actually had a nice cut scene at the end that left me a little teary-eyed!
I recommend this game!

The instructions for most of the mini-games/puzzles were so vague, I had to skip almost all of them. This was the first time I actually quit the Bonus Chapter of a Collector's Edition game, because the first interactive HOS (which you couldn't skip), was so impossible to figure out. I hated this game.
I don't recommend this game.

Finally a new location... the asylums, and haunted mansions, and mystical other worlds have all become pretty tiresome. The puzzles and HOS are standard and moderately challenging, but enjoyable nevertheless. Nice graphics, easily navigable with 3 main areas of interest (numerous locations within each) and it was a long game - I started to wonder if I'd purchased the CE.
I recommend this game!

Beautiful graphics, interactive HOS, good puzzles - some easy/some challenging, and not an overwhelming number of locations (though there is a map if you get lost).
I recommend this game!

I like this game, but I do have a few complaints:
1) I'm on the 12th house, and I still only have the same furniture and accessories to use.
2) While you can decorate your own home outside of play mode, you can't expand your living space to add more furniture, regardless of how much money you earn.
3) You need to be careful about placing items too close together or in front of one another. For example, if a worker needs to use the trash can, but is behind a floor lamp, you will be unable to click on him without highlighting the lamp, no matter how precisely you try to select him.
I recommend this game!
