I was excited about this game because of its synopsis. A fan of P&P, I thought it might be a nice twist on the original story and a fun HOPA.
What a disappointment!
The story has nothing to do with Pride and Prejudice, unless you count the character names.
Artwork just awful. Blurry as if to cover up the mistakes or lack of care, different styles without anything tying them together. I got the feeling that stuff was taken from here and there and put together like a collage.
Hidden Object scenes dark and hard to click on.
Navigation really bad. Finding the sweet spot took several tries and I often got out of a scene without wanting to leave it. Hard to move objects. I ended up just clicking around to see if I could pick something up and hopefully place it where it was supposed to go.
Instructions for some of the minigames basically non-existent. Some of them were really confusing even though I've played many games of this type.

After playing the 3 games in the series, this is my favorite one.
I really liked the story line, although a bit Sleeping Beauty-ish, because it was presented cleverly. The map was beautiful and the tasks were very specific. The HOs were presented differently, looking for specific items in various places and not the usual list to find among a jumble of objects.
The magnifying glass next to the inventory was very helpful at times, as was the maple leaf counter in the upper left corner of each scene to keep track of the collection. Navigating from scene to scene was very easy.
I also liked the fact that all of the scenes were filled with 'daylight' without any 'dark demons' (which IMHO is getting to be a staple in most of these games).
The downside is that it is a relatively short game -- about 3-4 hours. I wished it could have gone on a bit longer because I was having fun.
After inheriting an old antique shop, Emily discovers an odd diary that seems to contain a number of clues as to the book's origin. As she delves deeper into the mystery, what she uncovers will change her forever.
While I like HOGs and the storyline sparked my interest, the objects were much too small even with the magnifying glass and lantern. I was squinting at the scenes trying to adjust my eyes to the size of the objects. Thank heavens the hint recharges fast, because otherwise, I couldn't have completed a single scene. Even the size of the objects in the minigames are tiny. I had to give up after playing for a short time since it got overly frustrating.
In its favor, the scenes are pretty, the music isn't annoying and the story had the makings of evolving into something interesting.
Unless you have super-eyesight, I don't recommend it.

I knew something was off when the opening cut scene showed Netherfield for sale. Bingley rented the house and was worth 5 thousand a year. It also made me cringe when Darcy referred to Jane Bennet as "cute".
Navigating was just awful with the side scrolling and some of the objects were very hard to see. Game play was slow and if you click on something that was obviously out of place, a window pops up saying you don't need it, making you go back a couple of minutes later to pick it up. Furthermore, the game kept on freezing.
Huge disappointment after 13 minutes of the trial. Read the novel (or watch the movies) instead. Or better yet, have the devs actually read the novel before making a game.
I don't recommend this game.

I was so looking forward to this game but was sorely disappointed with the demo. I didn't mind the amount of text since it was basically the novel. But there were many historical inconsistencies with objects (brooms, dresses) and situations (a lady would NEVER help a maid and only visit the kitchens once a year), ugly character portraits (what happened to tall, dark and handsome Mr Darcy?), unclear instructions for the mini-games (it took me a while to understand how to play the piano), and unseemly conversations (Elizabeth referring to Jane as 'big sister' -- I don't think so).
The hidden object scenes were OK, but the seals and diary pages to be collected from each scene were virtually undetectable. I ended up clicking everything in hopes of finding one or the other.
In the situation scenes (where you had to do something), it took a while to understand you could change rooms.
The piano music was OK at first, but started grating after the first 5 minutes. However, this was solved by muting the sound.
