I have countless TM games and have a few that I frequently replay. I think this will be one of them.
As others have already said, this game introduces some different elements, in particular, that many levels have a very specific order that needs to be followed or you will find yourself re-starting the level for lack of correct resources.
There are also bonuses that you can activate and items you will find for Victoria to wear that will help you increase the number of resources you gain for removing a wooden or stone barrier. These items are crucial to successfully complete some levels.
I really love this game - the only two kinda downsides for me are the levels where you constantly have to switch out what she's wearing to get that extra bit of wood or stone and the fact that some of the levels seem to take *forever* to complete - for me - up to 15 minutes.
Nevertheless, very fun, great storyline, great levels, great characters and something I think I will be playing for a long time.

I know this game has been out for a year, but I just now finished it after shelving it over and over. Why? Because it is one of the most tedious, back and forth all-over-the-map time and time again games I have ever slogged through. I can't believe I bought the CE version.
And that's the main reason I finished it after a year - to get something for my money. But it wasn't very enjoyable. If it weren't for the teleporting map that told you where you had actions available, I would have trashed it and not even bothered. Ugh.
Story, voices, music - meh. It was just a very, very tedious game to plow through.

I just finished playing this and was so happy with how well done it was that I wanted to jump in and give it my thumbs up!
There are NO HOS's - instead there are Find and Use scenes - much more fun IMO.
The storyline was v. good, there is a map that lets you jump to locations and shows where actions are available. The main characters are lovable and memorable and a breath of fresh air from fairy tales and dragons.
The puzzles were less than mind bending, but fun nevertheless.
Highly recommended for an afternoon of solid fun. I too, was sad to see it end.
I was beginning to wonder where the really good Hidden-Object Puzzle Adventure games were. This is the first one that has caught my attention in quite a while, meaning something I really think I want to buy.
The visuals, voiceovers and music were very good. I didn't find it super challenging but it engaged me enough to play the full demo.
I was rather surprised and disappointed that there are no real extras other than the usual CE in-game strategy guide (which I didn't once use) and also a bonus chapter, but that's about it. That's why I will just wait for the SE. But then, a buy for me!
Very enjoyable.
I recommend this game!

I almost hate to admit how many hours I spent playing the first RE game. And I have a feeling this may happen again with the 3rd edition of the series.
The game has a new storyline with the same fun main characters and backed up by some new ones. You must help the King get back his 100% rating in all his lands to win back the crown from the evil guy.
The levels start out in familiar territory but quickly go to new and different (and very fun) iterations. I find that some levels are too easy, meaning that I can easily get 3 stars with plenty of time left, and others I can barely make 2 stars. I'm about halfway through the main levels.
The graphics, music and voiceovers are superb. The variety in the levels, though, is what I think is the real standout in this edition.
Also, the CE has an excellent step by step walkthrough should you be scratching your head and just not able to figure out a level.
All in all, if you like time management/strategy games, I highly recommend you try this (and the other) editions of Royal Envoy. They are addictively fun!!

I wanted to chime in on this game because I thought it was so great to have something come out that was different. Not in the sense that the story was ground breaking or the HOS's or puzzles were dramatically different, but because the environment and characters were all so charming and...different!
I also played the CE demo and am glad I didn't spend the extra $$. I think you had to find skulls or something. Meh.
The hidden object scenes were beautifully done and the rest of the artwork was fabulous. The SE includes a map that lets you know where there are actions to take and also lets you jump to locations.
I would definitely encourage the casual gamers out there to give this a try. I think you will be surprised.
I really don't know why I played this game through to the end. I kept wanting it to just be....over already!
Too many HOS and they were poorly done. Who even knows what some of that stuff was? It was very, very, very linear. You play one area and get through the door or whatever to the next area, and you can never go back. So that made it very boring as well.
The only hints were if you made sure to find these ridiculously hidden little light bulbs. There was about 1 per area (at least that I managed to find).
The puzzles could be challenging but they weren't a FUN kind of challenge. The rest were just boring.
No extras at all.
I got this on the daily deal which is why I played it a year after it came out. Still, I could hardly believe that this was produced only a year ago. The quality was way more dated than that.
Nutsy storyline too.
I recommend you don't even bother paying 2.99 for it.

I have played probably 100+ of these casual games on BF so I know what works (for me) and what doesn't.
This game was beautiful in so many ways. 1. It was true to the time period including the HO scenes. If they didn't have an electric toaster back in that time, you weren't about to find it in a HOS, for example. Also, it wasn't dripping in HOS's which I personally like. 2. Throughout the game, what you had to find and do with those objects also stayed true to the time period. I thought a lot of it was very clever. You also had to combine some items or tear others apart. 3. The music and sound effects were great, esp. the music. It always matched the mood of what was going on. 4. The puzzles were probably average and I wish there had been a few more because again, that's what I like about these games. 5. The storyline was well told. 6. The graphics were moody and well done. 7. The length of the game was good - I didn't time myself but it seemed longer than most games I get through.
I completed the SE and while there weren't any special achievements or "beyond objects" to find, that was OK for me in this games because everything clicked so well. I do enjoy those things, though, when they are offered.
Overall, a very nice game and I thank the developer for the thought they put behind it.
Return once more to the haunted grounds of Ravenhearst Manor to uncover new details about this poignant saga. What you find could very well be the final chapter of this riveting story-if you escape.

I have played tons of the casual games offered on Big Fish including the Ravenhearst games. This one is definitely different and not for everyone. It wraps up (or does it?) the Ravenhearst line of games.
It is challenging in its puzzles, creepy in its mood and has a very dark undertone better suited for adults. I admit that I started this game quite a while back and got totally creeped out by the hospital portion - rather horrifc concepts and images. And the difficulty was getting me discouraged. So I shelved it.
Then I came back to it, determined not to let it get the better of me. After all, unless a game is downright boring and stupid (and this game is neither), I wanted to see how it played out and so I plunged forward.
And I'm glad I did. Once you get out of the hospital, the theme is still dark, but not QUITE as disturbing. I can take it.
I loved the visuals, the acting, the voice acting, the multitude of locations and the lack of constant HOSs. The morphing HO can be hard, but it got to be a kinda 'fun' hard that leant a new challenge over the usual junk pile HOS. The dev and design teams took a leap but I think it works.
If you have a "strong constitution" and are an experienced gamer, give it a try and push yourself. You will also be rewarded at the end with the best credits roll I've ever seen in a casual game.
I found this game to be excellant, especially in the fact that it had no standard hidden object scenes. Instead they use the concept of finding a set of items to fix, for example, a broken lamp. Made it a little more immersive than finding random things in a pile of junk so you can get those gosh darn matches you gotta have. I also like it when the journal has extras such as a map, task list and character notes.
The game was decent length with lots to explore and do. Great graphics, so-so voice acting (but at least it had voice overs). Puzzles were the usual mix with some brain teasers.
The only thing that really got me was the ending. It made absolutely no sense to me. Maybe that's just me. Overall great game - I highly recommend! Enjoy!
