Really enjoyed this, in fact I want to buy it, but I have about 15 games I have bought and haven't played yet, gosh I need to stop buying for a while.
Anyway, I love the way the hidden objects are, when you finish finding the things on the list, you then have to do something to find what you are getting for solving the hidden object scene. I like those things a lot. Not the same old find all the stuff and here is what you got.
Don't use sound, but thought the graphics were good. There were some dark areas, but I find that if you just move your cursor up, down, and sideways, you will find what ever you were supposed to find.
The story seems alright to me, I enjoyed reading the journal. And the little spider robots, I wish we were able to bop them with a club each time they come around. Be proactive in the war! All in all ya'll, I really liked the game and if you are a true hidden object player, I think you will like it too!
This game has a lot of potential, just need the devs to do a bit more work on it. I don't use sound, so no comments there.
It starts out dark and out of focus right away and you can tell by the scenes that things are going to be small. You don't need to get a whole room in one shot, when they do that, of course all the things clear across the room are going to be miniscule and those are some of the things you need. They have the right idea here, and it looked like it could be a great game. I found the hidden objects were mostly easy with a few cleverly hidden. I would like a bit more difficulty there. Now figuring out where to go next and what you need to find and how to use it, now that was on the difficult side. I liked it, the only problem was how dark it was and I even found areas that I had missed because of how bad the graphics were. I really do wish they would take this back and rework it. Cause I think it could be one of the best, if only I could see. I also had trouble with the movement, wasn't smooth and it did hang up towards the end of the trial.
Since I found this game to be more aggrevating than enjoyable, I will not recommend it. But hey you devs, fix it and I'll buy it!
I really liked everything about this game. I only played the trial but that gave me a good idea how the rest of the game would go. I don't listen to any sound so can't comment on that area.
Some stories don't get my attention and I hardly ever open the diary, but this one had me reading as I went, or I could have gotten further in the game, but that just shows that their story was good. The graphics I really liked as well, if you did have a dark area, it wasn't so dark that you couldn't find anything, and items aren't too small to find either. I did find that the hidden object scenes were way easy, and for that I probably won't buy the game, I do want some challenge. There is challenge in the rest, like where do you go next, how do you open this door, that sort of thing makes you think. I just want to have to think all the way. So if you are like me, then this game isn't for you, if you kind of like an easy hidden object, then this game is a definite buy. I do like all the rest. So I will rate this game as a buy. Enjoy!
Wow, what an enjoyable game, it took me a couple of days playing many hours each day to complete it. I have played a few lately that are over with in just a couple hours, this really was worth the money, can't wait to see more!
I don't listen to the music or sound so I can't rate that, but I can tell you the quality of the rest. The story was really good, there wasn't too much talking but you were never lost in the story. And the spelling was good, didn't find any mispelled words and the structure of the sentences was correct. I know that some of the game designers are from other countries and English is second or third language and that maybe they don't know someone who speaks English well, so they have spelling and structure difficulties, but it still irks me to see them. The visual effects were astounding, I really like the way you could move from on place to another without having to walk all the way there. Granted, the playing area did get a bit large towards the end and if you didn't know where you were going it took some time getting there, but hey, isn't that why we play, to figure our ways around places? I just wish this game could have gone on even longer than it did. The puzzles weren't so difficult that you would have to skip them, but were just enough to make you think a bit. The hidden object scenes almost always had you finding different things if you had searched that one previously. The objects were cleverly hidden and once you found it, you could see it without magnifying glass or telescope. The lighting was good also. So overall, I think this is a great game, a definite buy. I wish I had bought the collectors edition now, oh well, I will just have to buy the next in the series! If you buy it, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did, in fact, I'm sure you will.
So rare is it that we get two fantastic games back to back but BF, you did it right!
I must admit that I got stumped a bit here and there, kicked myself for not figuring it out, but in the end was making my way through the game and enjoying every step.
I never came across a Hidden Object scene, which I thought that was what the game was, but I did enjoy clunking my way through a very clever adventure game. Maybe further in there are Hidden objects, don't know. I admit that because I was stumped I didn't get very far. I will as soon as I purchase the game.
I did find that the movement between scenes was really slow and opening the "diary" took a bit of time too. Those things, I feel, should be smoother. But that doesn't hamper the game play too much. In the "expert" mode you don't get the voice-over such as "I should cut this", things like that. But you can change your level at any time in the options, I like that very much. There are three levels and by being able to change you can find what works best for you.
I found the scenes were very clear. Had a good story going. And for some strange reason, you never get to see what "you", the player looks like. Usually you pass a mirror or something, this one, as far as I got, didn't. I enjoyed the game a lot and I am going to buy it and I would recommend for you to as well. Happy gaming Everyone!
I had just done my first review of a previous game that I was terribly disappointed in and I downloaded this game, wow, what a difference! I play every hidden object game put out, most are quite good, a few need lots of work, then every once in a while a game comes along that you know in the first few moments that it is great, that my friends is this game.
Some hidden objects the objects are very easy to spot, these games I pass on because I like a bit of challenge. A few out there make the mistake of making all objects so small that you need binoculars to find them. Then there are the majority that give you good, clear objects but cleverly placed so you have to do a bit of thinking. This game has put the items just so that you really have to put your thinking cap on folks, so rare to have such cleverly disguised objects, yet the scene is clear and in a size that even near-sighted folks can see. That is what I call a fantastic Hidden Object game.
The story line is catchy too. Without giving away anything, the girl has inherited this old mansion that she only has few memories of. So you do the game thing and find your way around discovering things. I liked that there was a story being told, yet there wasn't so much talking, whether to herself or someone else, that you were constantly reading and not enjoying the game.
I had only played 10 minutes of the last game because I hated it, this game I bought before 10 minutes were up, I was hooked at the first Hidden Object scene. I highly recommend Guardians, definitely a good hunt! The game runs smoothly, all scenes are clear, good artwork, easy navigation, greate game overall, a must buy!
I only gave this game 12 minutes, it was so poor. They did have a good story, I thought it was going to be good. They should play some of the hidden object games here at big fish and see how they should be created. The way you move around in this game is hokey. The images always look blurry. Way too much talking, and then the words disappear before you read all of it. All around bad game! I buy most hidden object games that come out but this one I will never buy unless they do a complete overhaul!
