The game play was terribly slow, the music was annoying, the colors were too similar to my old eyes and made it difficult to see matches quickly, yet the worst part was that you had to wait for cascading to stop before making your next match.
I think the premise was good, but poorly executed.
This would have to be a 'no go' for me, but I would recommend giving it a try...ya never know if you'll like it until you try.
Svetlograd is my #1 favorite Marble Shooter game...period!
There tons of levels/stages to play. Some more difficult than others, and some so difficult you wanna scream (when in Hard difficulty mode, that is). But the fun factor is undeniable!
The cute fuzzy little characters bouncing round the path are too cute for words. The colors can change with different stages, and some are more prolific than others, so you gotta keep your eye on 'em. ;)
There is a HUGE arsenal of weaponry to use against these little buggers, and you continue to upgrade as you play. Some tools you'll find priceless....others, based on your playing style, might not be as useful; it's up to you to decide, and they're there just in case.
Each level has gems and/or treasures to get, including Matryoshka dolls, and hidden treasure chests in the bonus levels.
There are also a ton of trees to destroy, as they block your ability to hit the critters, along with big boulders, Totems and other obstacles.
This game is just so fun and engaging, with fun music that shouldn't get on your nerves.
All in all, I think this is a MUST TRY for anyone and everyone looking for a fun game to play. It can't hurt to try. :)
The one thing I must share that could be considered a problem with Svetlograd is that I get TOTALLY ADDICTED when I start a new game. I get obsessed with playing until I finish the game, which isn't good for the Hubby, because he gets ignored. I'm sorry....it's just that fun for me.
So I say.....pack your bags, buy a ticket and travel to Svetlograd....it's a whole new world to enjoy. :)
First off, I can't believe I haven't reviewed Unwell Mel yet....I've owned it since 2009.
Unwell Mel is my #1 favorite Match 3 game of all time! Poor Mel is just a magnet for illness and it's up to us to save him. Cute little germs all around, just waiting to attack our sweet Mel.
Love the music Love the graphics Love the storyline Love sound effects
What I love about Unwell Mel is that there are so many different types of germs to kill, each with their own unique weaknesses, so there are a bunch of different 'medications' to earn to get rid of them.
In order to get the 'medicine', you complete levels to earn $$$. Then, when you have enough, a salesman will call on you to offer his antidotes so to speak, which will help you in the battle of the 'bugs'. Or, if you've got the cash and need more 'drugs', you can call on the Salesman yourself.
The longer the game goes one, the more $$$ you earn, the more 'medicine' you get. And what's better, is that you can upgrade the medicine to be more potent.
You get meds that will zap the germs, slime the germs, knock the germs out, inject them, etc... You'll get everything you need to help heal Mel.
While each stage is different, they aren't necessarily more difficult than the last...which I like, because it keeps things interesting. IE: Some levels you have to just get rid of all of a certain germ; some you have to clear the tiles, some both. It's just fun anyway you look at it.
The game is engaging, it's fun, it's frustrating (sometimes), it's got 'power ups', and it's a blast to play.
Each level and stage is named, depending on the illness you're trying to cure. It might be something related to a bum knee, tennis elbow, an ear infection, ingrown toenail...the list goes on. What can I say...it's just FUN!!!
The developers of this game really created a unique Match 3 experience, and it shows in the creativity and depth of the storyline and gameplay...which is flawless.
I can't imagine anyone not liking Unwell Mel, so I HIGHLY recommend everyone give it a try with the Free Trial. What have you got to lose but a little bit of your time, which is what you're expecting to invest anyway?
Alas, there is one problem I have with Unwell Mel, and that is....if I start the game, I become obsessed and can't stop playing. If I'm playing, I don't want to stop; if I'm not playing, all I can think of is how soon can I play again? And no matter how many times I play....I want to play more!
Lastly, I want to put a call out to BFG to develop Unwell Mel 2. It's about time; and with the new developments in game design, you could make this THE most amazing Match 3 game EVER. Come on....you've kept us waiting long enough!
Sorry for the long review....but I can't say enough good things about my best friend, Mel. Please.....introduce yourself to him....I think you'll find he's a really great guy! :)
I couldn't last more than 10 mins on the Free Trial, so if it gets better....I'm not aware of that.
The graphics weren't bad, but the colors seemed 'washed out' to my eyes.
The characters were cute, the music, while perfect for the game, was on a short loop and it became annoying after a short time....at least to me it did.
Things I didn't care for: 1. You had to shoot the bubble in the shooter; no toggling to select a different bubble. 2. To aim, you click with your cursor where you want the bubble to go; only then does the shooter swivel. It's unlike other marble shooters and very awkward to me. 3. Game play was not engaging.
All in all it's a very basic game, not many options, no exciting goals to achieve, etc....
So for me, it's a no go, but I highly recommend you try the free trial, as every person is different, and there are games that I LOVE that others disliked, so you have to see for yourself.
This game would be much more engaging if: 1. You didn't have to wait for the cascading to stop before making your next move. 2. The graphics weren't so plain and one dimensional. 3. The color scheme was brighter....more lively looking.
I played just a few minutes of the game and became frustrated with having to wait for the cascading to stop to make my next move. I didn't realize it would be so annoying and frustrating.....especially when on a timer.
This is a fairly old game, but if the developers would come up with a new & improved version with great sound effects, big explosions and a better sound for when the bugs are hit, they may get more attention.
Right now I'm in my Match 3 phase, and feel that BFG is in need of some new games that keep the player engaged, interested and on a meaningful quest for power-ups, points, and treasures.
Come on BFG.....you can do it!!!! :)

This review is based on playing about 40 mins of the game.
What can I say....I really like this game! It's fun. It's challenging and it's got bonuses & Power-Ups. Oh, and did I mention it was FUN?
Marble Shooters have never been my strong suit, so if it's too difficult, I'll walk away. This wasn't so challenging that I couldn't progress, and it lets you replay the level if you want to try for a higher score or more stars.
What I like is that it gives you the amount of Marbles you have to complete the level, so you can plan your strategy. If you run out, you can either restart the level or buy more Marbles with real $$$.
The graphics are nice; the music enhances the experience without being annoying or disruptive, and the pace is up to you.
The one thing I will say that has nothing to do with the game itself, but just something I've gotta put out there, is that while I could really get hooked on this game.....the moment I get to a point where I HAVE to buy something to continue...It's getting DELETED! No game is that fun, to get me to continually put more $$ into it. Heck, I don't even gamble or play the Lottery.
Overall...they did a great job with this game, and since it is Free to play....I say give it a shot. You just might like it. :)
The residents of Bitterford, Maine have fallen prey to a terrible curse. It’s up to you to unravel the series of mysterious events that led to the town’s downfall and uncover the evil that was responsible.
Ok, I haven't even downloaded this game, and based on the reviews of others, I'm not going to.
I've been waiting a long time for this next chapter in the MCF family of games, and would rather keep my good memories untainted by playing a sub-par game.
MCF....ya might wanna have a little chat with whoever thought this drastic change was a good idea.
I'm very disappointed that MCF would do this to their uber-loyal fans. Shame on you! (We know you're reading these reviews)
Thank you to those of you who shared their experiences with this game. You did great!!!
This game was quite fun! It harkens back to the original HOGs. I really liked how each level is a different type of HO scene. One might be HO, one might be find 12 similar items ie: butterflies, one might be find the differences, etc....
I'm considering buying the game, but I've got so many others I want, I must use my credits wisely. If I didn't have to worry, I would definitely purchase this game. It provides a simple game experience without having to worry about storylines or characters or finding items to be used later, which is nice, because sometimes I just like to play mindlessly...so to speak.
I found the music, background noise & graphics well done, clear and appropriate for the scene.
If you're considering it, I highly recommend you try this game. It might surprise you how fun this game actually is!!! :)
At first, I wasn't sure if this would be what I'd hoped, but it ended up being more.
The storyline is pretty standard...save the princess from evil. But, the characters are likeable. And with the voiceovers, they really gain personality.
The graphics are cartoonish, but fun & bright & easy on the eyes.
The gameplay was nice, if not a little easy, and it was very easy to navigate between scenes. There is a list of items to find on the right side of the screen, and once they are found, they are put in the inventory on the bottom of the screen. There were quite a few 'hot spots' to find, which I tend to like. And even though you had to go to different areas of the game to find your items, it wasn't frustrating or overly time consuming.
The Mini-Games are fun & different from the usual, which is nice for a change. Not impossible to solve, but not crazy easy.
The HO areas are clean, easy to navigate, and not like other HO area. Here, you have to match items to their counterparts, which I quite enjoy.
The Music is soothing and easy to listen to.
My only concern is that the Trial was over in 25 mins, and that's with leaving to go to the kitchen for a snack. Which makes me wonder..is the game that short?
All in all, it was quite enjoyable, and I'd highly recommend for gamers to take it for a trial run. I just wonder.....will Munchausen be able to save the Princess in time??????? ;)
This game was fun from the opening scene. I'm a classic film lover anyway, so it didn't take much. :#
The game starts out with Helena rushing to save her 'Mum' Rita Ray, from a crazed 'has been' movie director. Only problem is that, her quest begins on the Director's isolated, private island. The storyline piqued my interest immediately, as I found the setting and characters very likeable & appropriate. The voiceovers were very well done, and added to the credibility of the story.
As for the graphics, music & sound, they fit seamlessly in the game. I didn't get distracted because something looked or sounded out of place. #I appreciate that#.
The mini-games & puzzles were nice, because they weren't overly difficult and the items in the HO scenes were easily identifiable. The Hint & Skip buttons were slow to recharge, but not unreasonably so.
I'd definitely purchase this game, if as other said, it were longer. However, I'd highly recommend you try for yourself. It's a very enjoyable game.
