I made it thru 7 minutes. When i found the paperclip on the seat I knew I would not like the game. Oh! what a surprise. I have to use paperclip on a broken zipper somewhere. Oh great, I left my task journal out in the snow next to where I keep my rope. Why continue this farce? Just have the task book, map and other basic tools used in EVERY game already loaded. I have gone the route of my favorite and most trusted reviewer. I play old games.
I would have enjoyed playing these mini games, but it's just too much work to figure out how to. I know games are not near what they were. I've been playing Clutter Extreme everyday. Big Fish quality control is non existent. These games are not created in English and translation is not a priority. I know that most of us are a fringe market, but we do spend our money. I think we are frustrated with take it or leave it. DO creates the same game every time. Same mechanics, same collectibles, same, same, same. With all the great art, photos, and resources, I cannot imagine why we would value wallpapers and soundtracks from these games. I digress, if you're up for the challenge of figuring out how to play, go for it.
When will Domini learn? Every game we play as some genius detective. A genius detective that NEVER has their own notebook, pencil, or knowledge of the area. In most games we find our OWN notebook at the scene?! EVERY game 15 morphing objects, 15 theme objects and 70 tokens that we don't use to decorate a room we don't want. First morph in this game was a wineglass on the floor. Then, when I (as a respected detective) have to sharpen a broken pencil to get my notepad.. Too much. I didn't download the last Domini game because I just knew what it would be like. Since this game came out on a Tuesday instead of Thursday I thought I would try it. I think it is a lost cause. I am not looking forward to the new MCF game. I dread it. It will not be a MCF game. It will be a Grandma game.
A window pops up telling me about morphing objects, a phone call at the same time, then I am on the road. Cursor wont work. had to ctr/alt/del to get out. Now I jnow why so late and no reviews.
This is NOT a collectors edition. It is a match 3 game with different mechanics. It is busy and a bit confusing. I think the developer thought more equals quality. it doesn't. Beginners and kids will love it.
Too slow, too clunky. I think its time to face it... It's over for us hidden object, adventure gamers at Big Fish. I have seen games at different game sites. not here.
This is not a little romp into fairy tale land. Please play the demo before allowing a child to play. Irritating placement of key items, (a piece of the NEW lock installed while you were away, is to be found in the carriage you took out of town) I was willing to overlook. I am not at all picky these days considering Domini is spitting out the same game over and over. This game has a twist. It is a gross and dark twist, but it is a change. You begin getting clues to the main issue pretty quickly in the game, but then you step into the kitchen. Let's just say that kitchen could be found in Frankenstein's castle. *Severed limbs and blood everywhere! The demo ending puts it all in place. Normally , I would not purchase this game due to subject matter, however there is a story here and some effort was put into the game. I wish there were more collectibles. I also wish we had three choices for recommending a game: Yes, No and Meh.
I apologize that this review will not be helpful. The graphic are great. The first hidden object scene has you handing the items to Alice for so she could put them in a box. A new twist , but dumb and served no purpose. I came to a screeching halt when, in a museum, I would have to make homemade candy to create a shape to open a door. This door would probably take me to the next world, but seriously! Boil sugar water to make candy. Then I remembered this is the game series that had a child's swing that you padlocked the child into. This series is the best in keeping going back and forth. This game is not CE worthy.
Preview only. Nothing NEW here. Same puzzles. Same illogical items placed in absurd locations needed to perform silly tasks . Starting in present time was not necessary! You come to on a floor in front of a woman who suggests your corset is too tight. No shock, no fear, no using present day knowledge to "McGyver" your way out. A lot of reading for back story and plot, but that's it. What you read is not reflected in the game. Time ran out - I walked away- before I finished the preview, but we know who the bad guy is and his plot. Mondays, pixel art. Tues, paint by number. Sometimes a match 3 that looks like an android game. Wed SE of previous game and so on. Compared to the games released on other days of the week, this is our best bet....sigh. I will buy it. MAYBE the ghosts will show up. Anyway, the credits do pile up these days.
Match three game with challenges on each board. Somewhat like Laruaville and Spellarium. You must power up certain icons to move other icons. It has the usual crates and grass, etc. The big difference is that the bombs you get for matching 4 or more do not move. They do not remove obstacles. I think their only purpose is to earn coins to decorate Tim's barn home. They seem to just get in the way. I know you can turn them off, but I don't know about the coins. Along the way there is a storyline of Tim searching the dark woods for a lost little girl. There are animals in this forest that have been mutated by the evil witch. The graphics for the storyline are less than good. I call this a train wreck because I had to keep playing to see what they would throw in next. You truly have to look at the board and think of what to do first. At first I tried to play with the timer and failed many times. I am now playing relaxed mode to learn the game. Next time, I will attempt to play with the timer. Take the game as it is do not judge by all the bells and whistles of other games. Just try the demo and see if it draws you in. You truly get your money's worth for this game.
