This game was so much fun, BUT, I don't have patience (which is needed) or the ability to sit there and figure this kind of stuff out. Now, my son, he LIVES for this kind of challenge.
All I can say is, definitely try it before you buy it because, unless you are good at figuring things out by strategically placing given items in certain ways (not necessarily using all the given items) for the red button to go down, than this is not for you.
It's for GENIUSES! LOL Obviously not a buy for me, because sadly, I am not.
Let's all sing Yellow Submarine ...... sorry, it's actually a gold submarine - lol.
This is a unique twist on the customary match 3 game. Yes, you do have to make matches of 3 or more but it's a bit more difficult than your usual game. In order to make matches, you have a shooter (the sub) at the bottom of the game board. You have to shoot items into the array of other items on the game board, finding ways to match 3 in a row vertically or horizontally. But, it's not that easy, because when you shoot one item UP into the playing field, it moves those items you've shot at up as well. It does take some strategy. Your timed not by regular "time elapsed" but with every shot you take the bubble level goes down. Unfortunately, I'm not the greatest at strategy type games so this isn't a buy for me but I truly enjoyed my free hour.
I know I'm doing a HORRIBLE job explaining this so ......
please, please, please, give this little submarine of a game a chance and try the free demo. It takes some strategy but I guarantee you, by the end of the hour demo, you'll LOVE it.
I read the game description page and then played 9 of the 10 levels in the first area during the length of the hour-long free demo. While the graphics were amazing to look at, there was nothing that indicated a 3D background effect. I guess that was being saved for harder levels.
The tile sets never changed - always the same jewels - which made it kind of boring. The background music was also on a short loop which made it boring as well.
During game play, the scissors, dynamite and lightning bolt weren't really explained that well and if you got to a point where no more matches were available, the game reshuffled automatically. There was literally no way to lose a game. Which, again, made it boring. I like my mahjong games to be somewhat entertaining with a little challenge.
For these reasons this is not a buy for me. However, I do recommend that you try this imaginative game for yourself.
Wow! These developers really went out of the box when they thought of this game.
This isn't just a jigsaw puzzle, but layers of several puzzles. You pick which one of say, 3 or 4 puzzle layers, and build it from there. Say you chose a puzzle with 3 layers. That means there are 3 complete pictures. Just put each one together. It's actually quite fun and relaxing.
The graphics are suitable to the environment of the picture and the music was soothing.
This isn't a buy for me only because I don't have the dexterity in my hand to do the drag and move well. Otherwise, it'd definitely be part of my BF game gallery.
Please at least try this hour-long, free demo. If you like jigsaw puzzles you will love this unique twist on them.
The happy town of Floria was living in peace and harmony when an evil wizard turned it into a maudlin place. Help Floria regain it's beauty by playing this fun and addictive match 3 game.
The graphics are amazing. Background music fun. In between levels you get to play various mini games which makes this even more enjoyable.
This is a definite buy for me and I hope everyone gets the chance to play this free demo - which went by very quickly for me. In fact, when the demo ended, my reaction was "NO!" That's my personal "wow" factor. Means the game is a must.
In MQ II Nature was unbalanced. In this new addition to the game series, Balance has been thwarted. Not just any "balance" but the Balance of the Universe. Kwazi, our fearless quest leader, is now on a path to find out what exactly is HIS balance in this "Short, short life".
This is mahjong at it's best, and believe me when I say I have had mahjong marathons trying to find the most fun, unique, relaxing and enjoyable stories out there. This has raised the bar far and above anything I've seen before.
Kwazi has become an infant and grows just a little each time we fulfill a mahjong level. But, and here's the kicker, YOU have to answer a question (philosophical, of course) and pick only 1 of 3 possible answers. There is no win or lose - it's philosophical. But, your answer will have a bearing on the game's outcome. So, feasibly, there are hundreds of ways to end this game. Cool, huh?
The background music is soothing. Watching Kwazi go through his growth while I had to answer some tough questions about myself was quite revealing. Again, as in the previous "Quest" game, there are many ways to play this game - ice cubes, wooden blocks, butterflies and fireballs are just a few. They are all there to help you finish the level.
This is a definite buy for me and I hope you all will try the free demo. It's an amazing game that will have you looking inside yourself.
So, Nature gets miffed and decides to make the world see only in black and white, no greys, no middle ground. Okay. Let's see how that works out for Nature - lol.
I LOVE THIS GAME!
Sorry, the demo ended, I went a little nuts (my personal "wow" factor) and now I NEED to buy this game but have to wait until Bonus Punch Monday (a thing with me).
Not only is this game the regular straightaway mahjong, but it has so many variations you can't possibly get bored. I don't mean tile sets or layouts (that too) but ways to play the game. For instance, you have to make matches of 3 (THREE) instead of the customary 2 to clear the board and that INCLUDES the final ying/yang signs - all in 3s!
I LOVE THIS GAME!
In addition to that, you get a fortunate cookie read with some deep thought or other and before each level, ying and yang, who have split, each portray an emotion (like young and old - always opposites). It's great fun anticipating just what will be next. And there are so many NEXT's.
I LOVE THIS GAME!
So, this is a definite buy for me and I hope, hope, hope everyone will try this game out. The demo is free and it's a very quick hour-long. I did have one question....after playing this (Mah Jong Quest II) I went searching and found Mah Jong Quest III but NO MAH JONG QUEST (like a number 1 that started the series?). So, what was the original quest?????
Anyway, I LOVE THIS GAME! Did I mention that already? LOL
1. The story, though weak, is cute. Elves fall in love, getting married under a canopy of trees in the forest. Well, then the evil wizard steals him to get back his youth and good looks. Women of the world - ARIEL to the rescue.
2. The tiles are pretty - all flowers and birds and faeries, etc.
3. The games are sometimes unique. Rather than simply playing straight mahjong, you play swap, match, etc. OH, and let's not forget that in the 4th level or so you FINALLY find out what the "secret item" is.
Cons:
1. The story is stilted and never seems to go anywhere.
2. The language is atrocious - although it could be elven to English translation issue. Still.
3. It was boring. Nothing changed. Not the background, not the tile backs, only the layout. Boring.
For the above reasons, this will not be a buy for me. However, please do try it before you buy it.
Typical Mahjjong game, however, you have to reshuffle the tiles dozens of times. There may be a match or two, then reshuffle. Sometimes, you even get teased with a string of 5 or 6 matches, then reshuffle.
It shouldn't be called Brain Games it should be called "Keep On Reshuffling".
Yes, you do have to make matches of 3 or more of like colors. But, you start off with a color IN YOUR HAND (so to speak), you plop the color you're holding on to the game board to make the match 3 or more and then THAT color becomes the color you need to match. Sound confusing? Really, it's not.
As you level up, you earn bonuses and then are a myriad of things you need to do to pass each level, collect all the gold, etc.
While this is a fun little game, in which you get a bit of the story as you pass each level, it's not a buy for me. I liked it, I really did. But, there was some pizzazz missing. I do, however, encourage everyone who enjoys match 3 games to give this a try.
