You've graduated from high school and are living in your parents' basement ... so what's next?
Well, you get a job, make sure you are healthy, not hungry, have enough energy and have fun, too. You attain these goals by doing various things around town. And, when the weekend hits, you either gain or lose some of those valuable life points.
Don't forget to make one of your goals getting your own seedy apartment (it is your first, you know) and continuing your education (necessary to upgrade your job potential).
I didn't think I'd enjoy this original version of the game (I played the sequel first, go figure) and it does start off really, really, really slow but once you get the hang of things and figure out the different places you can go to attain your goals, it actually becomes fun. I couldn't wait to finish my next college course and see what new choices of jobs I had available to me.
Anyway, I would highly recommend this to all adults (and maybe some high school kids could learn a thing or two - lol). The demo is free and the hour went by way too quickly. Would definitely add to my wish list.
Happy Gaming!
I recommend this game!

What a novel idea making a game out of a Harlequin book romance. You pretty much know how it's going to end. Come on, it's a Harlequin - lol. I don't read them, myself, but was looking forward to a nice game of HOGs and romance. Boy, was I ever disappointed.
The storyline is weak. But, again, we're talking Harlequin not the Great American Novel here. The graphics are horrible. I turned out the background music so I can't comment on that.
HOGs.
This game is nothing but a little (or a lot of) conversation and then a HOG (hidden object game). Unfortunately, the items are very, very, very tiny and impossible to find in the scenery.
Mini Games:
The one I came across in the 20 minutes I played this game was cumbersome and, well, a bit stupid. A message that "you may have to backtrack" was inane in that I didn't have to backtrack at all, it was just THAT easy.
I quit after 20 minutes and 3 or 4 HOGs because my eyes just couldn't take any more.
I cannot in good conscience recommend a game that makes the items so very difficult to find. It takes all the focus and fun away from the game. Not a purchase for me at all.
I don't recommend this game.

That's what this entire game is all about. What happened to Jimmy Menendez? Did he die on a plane or was he the lone parachutist a witness saw? Who knows?
This is a cute solitaire game, however, it would be better if, instead of one very l-o-n-g ongoing story there were multiple crime stories.
Even with all the zany characters and one-liners from the P.I., the story (case) went absolutely nowhere in an hour of the free demo. It was stale, stagnant and boring. Sorry, BF, this game could definitely be improved on.
I will recommend this for beginners or those who love a sleuthing story that takes forever and a day to finish.
Happy Gaming!

There is a story line here. A young girl remembers her parents' Japanese garden when she was little so she decides to start her own business of making Japanese gardens for clients.
To do this, you have a game board which will show 1, 2 or even 3 levels of cards. But, there is only 1 card to begin with on each level. Then, there is a stream of various cards (numbers and suits) that come down like a conveyor belt. You have to choose a card (higher or lower) to put around the first card and then build from there - higher or lower. Complete the board and you have a garden - that is tiny and you don't really get a chance to enjoy.
There are bonuses in the form of wild cards, jokers, a basket that will make cards disappear on the conveyor belt and a reverse (that's all I got to in the time I played).
I did not see any penalty for cards falling off the conveyor belt that I did not use but I played on the relaxed mode rather than timed. Nor did I see any koi, ponds, fish or otherwise.
I got bored very quickly. Nothing really astonishing about the game. It's not a building game. It's not really a solitaire game. Just couldn't interest me.
I will recommend it for everyone to give it a try. It just might be what you're looking for.
I recommend this game!

If you love repetitiousness and scrap-booking and HOGs (hidden object games) this game is definitely for you.
It's repetitive because you look through the same "drawers" over and over and after a while it can become boring because you pretty much know where the items are.
If you love scrap-booking this is for you because once you go through the 3 HOGs, you have to locate a certain number of items from "pages". Once you find those items you have earned stars - but you can earn additional stars by adding to the scrap-booking page.
If you like HOGs (hidden object games) this is for you because the whole game is nothing but HOGs and HOGs and HOGS. You have to find 9 items in a "drawer" plus a riddle item. Hints are rechargeable (20 seconds I believe) and take you to a general area. The "zoom" feature is definitely needed as items are quite tiny.
So, that's how you play the game - do 3 HOGs, scrapbook a page and done. I got bored before the end of the demo but I persevered and played on to the end. Still, not a game for me. However, I encourage everyone to give it a try.
Happy Scrap-booking!
I recommend this game!

At first, I didn't think much of this game because all you really do at the beginning is go from building to building either working, relaxing or doing whatever that building specializes in such as sketching, lifting weights, meeting a scientist, dancing and finally ...... you choose a new job and off you go.
Once you choose your job you have to go around town getting quests, usually finding things for someone, but don't forget to stop and eat, go to the wishing well, learn traits from the zen master and, yeah, go to work - lol.
As the game progresses it really does become much more fun than anticipated because there are multiple quests to do, money to earn, and points to allot somewhere in your life. And, just because you have a job doesn't mean you stop reading, dancing, or whatever else your life skills need.
This is a fun little game, not great for my self esteem at times - lol - but give it a chance --- it really does pick up and keep you busy.
I recommend this for EVERYONE!
Happy Gaming!

When a reviewer (and a moderator lets this through) gives the ending to the main story AND the bonus story in the CE version, there's no point in my wasting time to give my review of this game NOR purchasing it.
BF needs NOT reject this review because everyone who reads it needs to know they have to watch reviews carefully. It's bad enough that there are those who rate everything 5 stars just to get their reviews read first but this, this is just beyond bad form.
I don't recommend this game.

I lost interest in this game pretty quickly. I don't know why, really. But, I just couldn't get into it. Nothing really made sense or flowed. There was no continuity to the story and too much going on - a troll that always shows up, a gypsy telling you how brave and pure of heart you are, all sorts of witches threatening world peace, even Medusa shows up but why?????
For all the great dark and creepy graphics and music, this game just didn't do anything for me and I became bored very quickly. Didn't even finish the demo.
Feel free to try it before you buy it but it's definitely not a purchase for this gal.
I don't recommend this game.

I think I may have been at a disadvantaged not having played the previous game in this series. I found this to be quite fun, delightful and innovative in that it was a garden cleaning, building, etc. with specific goals and not the usual let's just build a town, city, etc.
I don't do well in time management games so this won't be a purchase for me but it was great fun during the free demo. I encourage everyone to give it a try. It really is a lot of fun.

I absolutely LOVE this game! It's so easy and so fun and so addicting - when the free demo ended my reaction was - "NO! NOT YET!". THAT is my personal "wow" factor which indicates ....... this game is a KEEPER!
This is a great game for beginners because you get instructions in every level. You need to build up the town - which is so much fun - using the stars you earn from playing the game. Playing the game is easy - you get a task list at the bottom of your screen and then just do what it says - cut down trees for wood, harvest fruit from the bushes, find places to explore, build mines and sawmills and when you complete the level, keep your stars until you earn a few or use what you earn each level by building the town (build houses, church, dig trenches, remove rubble).
Again, this game is great for beginners or anyone who likes to build. Play the relaxed mode and whenever you need some stress relief or just want to feel good, go play this game. It's a definite keeper in my book and I will be purchasing it.
I recommend everyone try this amazing game. You may just find yourself digging for gold in California too!
Happy Gaming!
