Nevertales has been a treat since the beginning getting better through the series which is really unusual. The variety of challenges, characters and graphics was so enjoyable with several delightful touches thrown in - hot fires where you must be really specific about what you need to achieve for instance (no spoiler there I hope). Please keep it up Mad Head.
I am a fan of this series and was looking forward to playing this and started off well. A progression of sorts but not quite enough and initially along the same lines. Good graphics and reasonably clearly lit puzzles. BUT it gets much darker as the story progresses and if I want to play quasi horror I want to make that choice myself. The first hour try out does not give any inkling of this facet and I think that is wrong. I finished the game because I do not like leaving an unfinished story but came as close to deleting this as I have ever done with a game which started so well.
I do not often find a game I do not want to leave but this was definitely the case. An interesting story line with unusual touches such as information not immediately useful but making you feel there is a League around and with you. Puzzles presented differently and a very useful map. I do not like using hints and if you are patient and search thoroughly you should be able to get through. A good twist at the end.
I thought the beginning was a bit confusing as you are thrown in the middle of trouble but I do not use hints so took a little time to work out what to do. How nice to have something which was not the same as everything else. Having to take it slow was a real challenge and the graphics are, as usual with this company, excellent. Definitely have to play again.
Best so far (hope for more this good) - an excellent variety of mini games and you have to be a bit creative in your thinking - even the HOGs are not all the same. Played the standard game (not CE) and the map was a help having deactivated most other things. Didn't collect all my acorns so going right back in to find them! OK music and nice level of interaction with the characters which can be jumped if you wish. Good variety of locations and clearly drawn with good light level throughout. (Hate unnecessarily gloomy HOGs). It is clear who you are and what you are trying to achieve.
Really enjoyed this - best yet because I enjoyed having lots of different types of puzzles in addition to the usual HOGs/reverse HOGs - although I came to dread trying to open the boxes because I really struggled with the firey lines. No maps so you have to think about where you need to be or where you have been that might need revisiting. The Hint was clever - helping without actually telling you so you still had to think. Overall well constructed and I found the fairly simple story line sufficient to hold everything together. Definitely can be played again since I'm still not sure I finished every room or area!
I recommend this game!

Mystery Age: The Dark Priests
Stop the Chaos God’s Dark Priests once and for all! Amber must head back to Westwind Village to put an end to the evil for good!
The first Mystery Age was ok if a little slow so I tried this demo and fortunately was teased enough to buy. An excellent mind exercise because they have not put in a map so you need to really think about where you have been and where you need to go. No spoon feeding which is a lovely change. The graphics are pleasantly fairy tale and as you revisit scenes several times there is enough going on to maintain the interest level. Don't forget to click anything that looks like it might move because it probably will - a lovely witty touch. It really makes you think - 'why do I need to know that' which only becomes apparent several levels later. I never find the music varied enough but this was ok and I would like visuals to be a little lighter for those of us without 20/20 vision but now I'm being picky. It took me much longer than anticipated to finish and I had to come back to it quite a few times which was a wonderful change. I'm looking forward to playing this again.
I recommend this game!

Pride & Prejudice: Hidden Anthologies
Explore the rich world of Jane Austen’s most beloved novel, Pride & Prejudice! Enjoy this Hidden Object Adventure and get a new perspective to the classic story.
This is soooo slow. If I want that much dialogue I will read the book. Also irritating having to do things in exactly the right order for no obvious reason i.e. shoes before ribbons. Cannot change the sound levels and with my computer sound on lowest levels is much too loud for my small study and with other people around so end up having to have sound off. Visuals good and slightly varied and good lighting levels. Couldn't be bothered to finish the 'test' hour I was so bored.
Sorry but wooden, pedantic, weak games and definitely not an adventure. Goes from Hidden Object to another and really not challenging. May be good for a first time player to HOGs. The games are not very imaginative and are really easy. One hour was too long.
Test your memory and your observational skills. Different types of puzzles and good use of old favourites linked to new uses. Music not bad, quality graphics and excellent, old fashioned, good v evil story line.
