I bought this game based on the reviews and did not trial it, poor judgement on my part. The story line was good, but thought the graphics could have been better. the music would go off and on during game play, I don't always play with the music and decided midway through to just shut off the music. The characters were interesting and offered help throughout the game, but there are no VO's and I think they could have really added to the game. The hint button recharged quickly, but was not very helpful outside of HO There is a map, which is helpful, but not interactive, with a fair amount of back and forth it would have been a plus. I found that when stumped I needed to look up the walkthrough as the hint would keep pointing out the area where you needed to do something, but you already knew that, not helpful in finding the object to help in your tasks. I found the movements jerky at times, and would have to click or place a tool many time just right before I could get it to work. The underwater scenes were done very well thought, and I enjoyed the games and HO scenes, Neither were too challenging but just right. Although this was not my favorite game I did enjoy the storyline and the fact that it took place mostly underwater. for that I'm recommending the game.
This review is based on completing the main game and bonus chapter. This game really surprised me, the graphics were well done, with beautiful scenes of Paris and London. I usually don't want to replay games, at least not right away, but I will definitely replay this one. It was from a dev that I was not familiar with, and was a switch from the usual... who done it, spooky mystery HOG we all know and love. You have a villain who is wrecking havoc on Paris as if Cholera is not bad enough, now lovely young women are being done away with in a most unusual way. Along the way you gather fragrances to aid in developing potions that you use in various ways, loved that part of it. There are collectibles and achievements to earn as you go, there is a map that allows you to jump which was helpful and I used most of the time, and a book of notes to help if needed but I found I didn't need to check that, as the game follows along nicely and there isn't a lot of jumping around. the games were not especially challenging, but fun and you can replay them as extras. Loved this game, highly recommend it.
I recommend this game!

This game did have a good storyline, you are Thumbelina set out on an adventure to save your prince from the evil witch that has taken him captive with the intent to marry him herself, you must break the evil spell not only on your prince but you as well. The graphics are good with a fairy tale quality to them, which fit the game. HOS were clear and objects were easy to find. Unlike some there are no extras to collect, or morphing objects which I tend to enjoy, so that was a bit of a disappointment.
This game really was different and not what I'm use to from Elephant games. That being said, I found the game difficult to follow, you do have a transporter map which moves you quickly from place to place, and it shows you areas with current tasks, without being clear on what tasks. You are leaving many tasks undone in so many different areas, that it would become difficult to remember what needed to be done in what place. Seemed to be a lot of jumping around, and I even looked up the walkthrough at one point near the end of the game, which I very rarely do.
The game does have a good length to it, some of the really great games feel like they end too soon, I found myself just wanting to get through this one, which was a shame.
All in All it was a good SE game and i was glad I purchased it instead of the CE version.
I seriously play this game everyday. I am a big fan of adventure HO games, but for some reason this little game has me hooked. It is a simplistic but fun solitaire, kind of like the match 3 which have been done so much, I'd like to see new variations of this game. This game has been around for a long time and I've never seen another form of it, too bad really. I think it's got just enough challenge to keep it interesting has three different game plays to choose from quick play, when you just want to play literally a quick game, Classic Nertz where you pick the level of challenge you want, and Championship where it progresses from easy to challenging. You play against family (Nertz) members from baby to grandparents. I love the Championship rounds, and play it most often. Seriously try this game, simple yes, but fun and both competitive and relaxing at the same time.
I have to admit that the first few minutes of the game, left me wondering if this would be just a so so game. Boy was I wrong. The graphics were very well done, and the music, which I usually turn off on most games was so well done, and added to the atmosphere of the setting. The hidden objects were not too difficult to find, with a few interactive aspects which was not overdone. The mini games and puzzles were not challenging, but fun. The hint button recharged quickly and helped with direction outside of the hidden objects. There is a map and journal which are helpful, but found I didn't need to use either much. The storyline is magnificent. the story unfolds with a ghostly figure of a boy, and little snips of film clips that were so well done. I found myself glued to this game with all the twists and turns, It's a real whodunit right to the end. I give this game a two thumbs up! The length was good and the characters believable. Loved it!
I was pleasantly surprised by this game. It has a nice story that places you as a Doctor set out on a Investigation of a troubling illness that has stricken a young girl. It is up to you to discover the secret and save the girl. The graphics were not the best I've seen but no dark and murky HOS that cause you to give up or draw within inches of the screen. Some objects had less than familiar names, but I found I only needed the hint button a few times. There is the option of game play instead of the HOS which some may prefer. There is no map for transport and there is some back and forth but I didn't find it tiresome. The hint button will give direction outside of HOS which I used often. There are no Morphing objects or special items to find, which I tend to love, but didn't really miss them in this game. The game had a good length and I played it casual and took my time, I didn't tire of it, and enjoyed it much as one does a good book, taking my time and enjoying it. All in all this was a relaxing fun game where the storyline made sense and kept my interest.
This was a very enjoyable game, I played it in casual, and took my time playing, over a few days. It has a great storyline, while I usually opt out of the music I left it on for this game and was glad I did. HOS were sharp, some of the hidden items require interaction. You have a map that allows you to locate places where something needs to be done, which I used and love that, but you can choose not to use it, if you want a bit more challenge. There are the extra objects to find, which always adds to the game play, I have to admit I missed a couple, but will enjoy playing again to see if I can spot them all.
The bonus chapter, did not seem to continue the main story, so if you opt for the SE than you will not miss out. still it was a great add and made the CE worth it for me.
All in All this is a fun game to play during the holidays, or anytime for that matter.
The graphics were very good, and I found the VO's well done, overall the game was fun, but way too easy. I was happy to not have the usual constant back tracking that some of the HO Adventure games overdo. I found the HO clear and not too much trouble finding all the objects, there is some interactive aspects which adds to the fun of HO scenes. My only real complaint was the amount of time it took me to finish the game, most of these I play in short sections and it can take me days to complete that way. I finished it in one sitting, I did purchase the CE version which gives you the extras, even with that considered, the game play is way too short. I'm glad I purchased on the half price special. This is a good game if you are looking for and easy to follow plot, and less challenge.
