Help Flavius expand the Roman Empire! Haggle with shopkeepers, collect supplies, build bridges and more in this exciting time- and resource-management adventure!
As others said before me, I wish BigFish would get decent TM or Strategy games but this one doesn't qualify in my book. It's basically a gatherng wheat, create flour, create bread and gather cabbage for cooking a stew game. Most boring game ever played. Unlike Vikings or the Hercules where food was gathered and complete when you gathered it. You will get to do some building but tents get expanded depending on the level you're on. The most exiciting I've seen happen is buildings will fall down and you have to rebuild before continuing to cook. This game will be shelved for desperation days when I can't find anything else to play.
Surprised by the low ratings for an excellent game

I've owned this game for several years and never tire of playing it. It can be both relaxing and challenging. It's a wordsmiths dream game. I won't go into the details as the excellent ratings others have written cover it well. If you like word games, you will love this one.

Solitaire games generally bore me but not this one. As a member of a slightly inept police department, your job is to collect clues to determine the perpetrator of crimes like sleeping on a refrigerator, walking a goose, singing in public, etc. The Wheel of Misfortune pops up now and then and you may be rewarded with extra cards, money to go toward the warrant fee for the crime, bribe money (seen as an innocent gesture of good will), etc. or you may lose cards or money on the wheel. There is no time limit on the levels so it is very relaxing.

The story line is so-so but the graphics are good and the music not too annoying. The thing I dislike to the point of despising is that each level is timed but sometimes halfway through the level (generally after I have just decided on my next couple of moves) a Bonus Game pops over the screen and the level I was on can no longer be seen. What's worse is that the Bonus Game is always the same--a leprechaun carrying a basket is under a tree and branches, leaves, and nuts are falling from the tree that he must run to catch to get bonus points. I find this extremely distracting and aggravating. When the Bonus Game is over, you are taken back to the level you were working on. If the developers ditched the leprechaun and interrupting the level, I would have given this game at least 4 stars. As it is, I cannot recommend the game due to the annoying Bonus Games and lack of casual play-ability.

I've owned this game for a few years and find myself going back to it time and again to replay. The story line is simple: cats have stolen chicks and locked them up, you have to rescue them. The play is a strategy match 3--if you are looking for a boring game to help you go to sleep, this is not it. Not all levels are the same--some require being finished in X amount of moves, others require completing while making sure that less birds of a specific color fly away. It is interesting from beginning to end. It's a very different and fun game.

Pros: This game has it all--a moving board, treasure chests to open, quests, extra challenges, great colors and graphics, hidden areas to find, power ups, bombs, a mace, and tornadoes to clear areas and a decent story line. Cons: Progress on a level is not saved if you stop halfway through and if this wasn't such a great game, I would have given it a lower rating just for that, but it is a great game and kept me interested from beginning to end.
I seek these types of games and there are not enough of them for those of us who want and need a challenge. The thing I love most about this game is that the developers took the old idea of a jigsaw-type game and put a new twist on it. Regarding those who complain that there are no instructions, the instructions are there in illustration form and it is not unreasonable for developers to assume that people who like puzzles will figure out how to follow the illustrated instructions.
