It's different enough to have caught my attention, and that's saying something. I tend to get rather bored with the same old games. This game is a great twist, something new... and I liked it so much, I immediately bought it when the demo ran out.
I'll admit, it could get a little repetitive after awhile, but that's true of the old classic card games too. I like this game, and it's enough to keep my attention for awhile.
The graphics are okay, but my one gripe would be that we can't see more of each card while it is in our "hand." When hovering, I would like to see it pop out where I can read it.
...and P.S. I may be the only one, but I MISS the forums.

I have to say, I did not care for Artist Colony all that much. But THIS strategy game is actually fun! No, it is NOT yet another HOG, thank goodness! I hate them and am disappointed that 98% of the time, that's what BFG gives us...
PROs:
*Clever side-game puzzles, not impossible.
*Strategic thinking is required but not impossibly difficult.
*Speed of game is adequate, altho there is a speed-up button. I did not find it necessary, but perhaps later in the game, I might find it useful.

CONs:
*As others have mentioned, you must follow the proper order of things, else you will reach an impasse and will have to start a new game.
*If you do not level up your all your diggers, you will run out of low level dig sites for them. Be careful.

Just remember, for each skillset, you will need 4 characters to reach level 6. In other words, 4 lvl 6 diggers, 4 lvl 6 surveyors, 4 level 6 brushers, 4 lvl 6 Analyzers and 4 lvl 6 cooks. Fortunately, this does not mean you need 20 characters! That's the nice thing about each character having 2 skills!
I not only recommend this game (as a Strategy/Adventure game), I bought it before I even completed the demo!
P.S. Since there is nowhere to post a complaint about too many HOGs... I will repeat myself here. BIG FISH GAMES, C'MON! More variety, please!!!
