Cooking Stars is a great game. I got to beta test it, and I couldn't WAIT for it to come out. I love the game-play, not too challenging for the most part, and the 5 stars thing? Absolutely inspired.
The game-play is great, and it's been a long time since I've been so excited for a new TM game.
The story-line is pretty good, all things considered. Nothing I would really change there.
HOWEVER...
The lag on this game is ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS. I can't make it through a level without almost losing customers, and I haven't been able to get all of the customers through because it lags so hard. I'm on level 10 right now, and I don't even know if I want to keep playing, because it's no longer fun. When you have to wait, and lose precious time because the mouse won't catch up, and you can hear the music hitting snags, that isn't a game I want to play.
I really wish my review could be completely positive, because like I said, this is a fantastic game, and it had immense potential in the beta. But the lag in the game bumps down the rating by 2-3 stars, because it takes something away from the game
I don't recommend this game.

This game is a classic example of the way most TM games are now. I think the graphics, music, and gameplay itself aren't bad, and it's really just a matter of whether or not you like these time management games. These click and drag, minigame style games are all pretty standard, but this one does appear to stand out among all the rest of them.
The story line in this game is actually really good, and the ending makes it clear that they plan to continue the series, which I would very much look forward to, as it is, in its own way, unique.
Overall, this wouldn't be a bad game, and it would have tremendous replay value.
HOWEVER, after playing through the game and buying all the upgrades, it is STILL impossible to get master score on about half, if not most, of the levels.
I am a player that takes great joy and a sense of satisfaction in getting master score on all levels. And a game that makes it literally impossible to achieve that, well, it has no business being on the market.
I don't recommend this game.
