Well, I say loved it but one thing that bugged me was you couldn't jump from place to place - I got lost a few times trying to figure out where I was supposed to go. I noticed that for the sequel they changed that.
Loved the graphics - so realistic! Beautiful scenes. Puzzles weren't too hard and the HO games were fun. Make sure you try the sequel!
I've learned that if you don't do tasks in a specific order, you're stuck. It lets you do them though, but then you're out of sync and stuck. The graphics are amazing, and the storyline (there's sort of one) is good. But both my daughter and I are stuck at different points because we have items in the inventory, but using the Hint button it just swirls around the inventory panel. If you miss what the characters said in the first place, you're out of luck. And no walkthrough available.
I think you get to redecorate three properties if I remember right - an apartment, suburban home and a mansion. I thought the decor choices were a bit odd at times (dated). the hidden object part wasn't hard though some items were tiny. I thought I was just about to do some more decorating in the mansion and it said "the end" or something... oh well!
I've had this installed for a year now, not sure why it's a recent 'new' game? Anyway, I have the first one where you could change the decor of the rooms, and there were puzzles to figure out. This one has puzzles (maybe two or three), and the rooms you have to purchase as you go - but you can't change the decor. You can purchase furniture etc (the kindle version updates and changes all the time; it's great) but not change the colours/style. It's a much bigger house, though. I can't figure out the purpose of all the rooms; it seems like only two bedrooms and 15 living rooms, lol.
The most annoying thing is that the cursor jumps all over the place. If you move it too quickly it jumps back to the middle of the screen. Maybe this 'new' game has eliminated this. I like that you can adopt children - the first game, if your couple didn't have kids, you had to start over. The maid and the gardener stop all the crazy mess in the house and yard!
I've had this game for years and still get frustrated. I find I have to retry levels over and over because I can't get the items fast enough. It's a cute game, and the graphics are amazing, but I wish it were a bit slower paced. I noticed others said it was easy - I must have downloaded the uber-fast version lol

Sorry guys, this was really disappointing! The graphics are pixelated... the cursor is just a generic white arrow (I know, seems silly but you go to the trouble of designing a game, then use a plain old pointer)... when you click an item it just shimmies about and doesn't go away. So when you have four of one thing, you have no idea how many you got already. I gave up after one minute. :(
