Hastily purchased this CE based on the previous Maestro games. The opening scene was excellent and looked promising until actual gameplay.
Dark Talent is in no way comparable to previous Maestro games. There was no plot at all except, again, someone is abducted by evil forces and you, the Detective must seek to right the wrongs. Nothing makes any sense and no attempt is made to give gameplay appeal.
Uninteresting and sheer drudgery picking up items here and there to put them down with no surprises and no substance.
I had resolved not to purchase any more ERS games and was totally let down as the opening cut scene was about the only bright spot in this dull, lack luster ERS sleight-of-hand.
Adding insult to injury are the undeserved rave reviews. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
When an elusive killer strikes a high-tech lab, Nancy Drew is called in to sneak into secret areas, interrogate workers for multiple motives, and expose the truth behind The Deadly Device!
Have been a Nancy Drew fan since childhood--reading all of the sleuthing novels. Yes, I even read all my brother's Hardy Boys books. As an adult, I totally enjoy the gaming aspect. This particular game's characters come to life with clear voice overs and superior acting.
Do not underestimate Nancy Drew--ever. The game was quite challenging on Master Sleuth level. Will play again on Amateur so I can relax a little and more enjoy the scenery.
A solid game with puzzling puzzles while adding interesting facts about Nikola Tesla. If you're as fascinated with the genius inventor as I, you will totally appreciate the work and research invested by Her Interactive in The Deadly Device. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Since the story is the game along with exquisitely hand-drawn art work, somber music and a creative new hidden object find that is called the Detective Mode. Clues are selected in a scene rather than picking objects from a list. Interactive Map has 3 levels-1st floor, 2nd floor & basement.
Gamers are in for a treat. An immediate buy! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
As previously stated, game has no collectibles or morphing objects--which I usually refer to as bells and whistles--and which too many games have without having a game. With that said and done, Mystery of the Ancestral Estate is so far a 3rd in the Secrets of the Dark series of which gamers need not play in sequence. The games are older, yes, and they are excellent as well.
Orneon Developers are keen on detail which also includes the Walkthrough. Played Advanced Level to give myself some wiggle room if I wanted to possibly use a hint or skip as the difficulty option cannot be changed once game has started. Purchased game in 2013 and it was a joy to play in 2014--quite challenging and engaging and all the other positive reviews rolled into one. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Challenge yourself in the role of the scientist-historian-scholar of ancient civilizations and mystical legends and save your friend from the Demon of Darkness!
Gaming excellence! ORNEON Developers pulled out all the stoppers and spared nothing either in terms of beautifully detailed, hand-drawn artwork, computer graphics, challenging puzzles, the highest quality hidden object scenes, immersive music with a very helpful and detailed walkthrough.
After already saving your friend Peter in Mexico, (Temple of Night), he has convinced you to visit another far-away and more exotic land--Thailand-- where adventures continue!
Thanks to the CE Walkthrough, I was better able to get adjusted and understand that illuminating a scene takes gamers to play another scene. Gamers switch back and forth throughout gameplay and this led to the increased challenge and better enjoyment.
The story was compelling and the almost soothing music allows gamers to focus and stay immersed in the game. It's no wonder Secrets of the Dark is one of the most popular of computer gaming series and one of my absolute favorites! On to Mystery of the Ancestral Estate and the newest game Secrets of the Dark-The Flower of Shadow! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Tried to like this game. Didn't want to judge on the demo alone. Even purchased the CE, yet, found the game to be more boring the more I played. After reading other reviews that preceding games were captivating, I just seriously have my doubts and will pass on the Dana Knightstone Novel game series. Possibly would recommend to beginners and younger set. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Although I would rather sleep in the car than check into this particular hotel, it does make for an intriguing hidden-object adventure game. Lengthy and captivating, gamers will enjoy the bold, creative hand-drawn artwork, puzzles and hidden objects all the while working away to rid the hotel of some very bad mojo. The Bonus Game is lengthy and challenging as well. With a lot of ground to cover, the interactive map is helpful. Great addition to add to my Haunted Hotel Collection! Awesome job, Developers and thank you BFG! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Finished the Standard Edition and, of course, should have purchased the CE. Either way, the game will not disappoint gamers of all ages!
Many years ago you and your friends played a game of hide and seek but something went very wrong. A young girl approached you and asked you to read a strange chant out loud! Years later, you venture back to the same town. Storyline unfolds and extends a variety of puzzles, hidden object scenes and other creative puzzles to gamers.
Certainly not the most challenging game, however, was quite enjoyable for the child in me who was always a bit leery of hide-a-seek. Enjoy! -Mama Mia
Having enjoyed the Fierce Tales series, this new installment appears to be about the same with adjustments to the story line of cats--big and small.
Visuals are outstanding, however, this gamer is looking for more challenge than picking up items and putting them in a separate place amidst beautifully rendered computer graphics and artwork.
I very much admire the rare, mysterious and almost extinct snow leopard due to human intervention. Would recommend to beginner or easy going gamers. Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
Only a couple years old and just replayed. Minus current game bells and whistles, the story line will blow away the rest. Interesting with a creative plot!
You are an undercover detective who is dropped off an island to determine what has happened to missing persons. You are working a position that, for some reason, hired hands before you have disappeared.
An enjoyable Saturday day afternoon--or any day for that matter--gaming experience awaits! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-
