If FIVE-BN GAMES doesn't win one or two top 2016 game categories for this, will be very disappointed. This is great gaming. For starters, with 26 smooth, detailed videos, gamers can't go wrong. Developers took their time, however, get the CE so you can replay them as I did many times over. The best is Video 17 in the lineup--will give you a gasp as it did our beautiful, unassuming Laura James. All are great with 17 as my favorite and then 19, 20 and 21.
Music - 6 awesome tracks with the usual spellbinding New York Mysteries musical score--violins, cellos and horns, oh my!
Mini-puzzles - 18 with 5 added puzzles n the CE
CE Bonus Game of 20 added mini-puzzles as well.
Complete Collections or go back to retrieve any missed.

Gamers can re-visit any scene again and again as no scenes are blocked. How's that for being thorough and generous?
The journal is very interesting and helps gamers understand the story line. Did I say story line? Indeed!
Professor Bishop, Laura James, Will and a cast of others will thrill gamers with their personality and good looks. Even the villain is ruggedly handsome as a "lunatic".

The twinkling lights in the marsh look pretty, but they hold a mysterious power. Whatever you do... do not follow them!

Without rehashing previous reviews, a few comments such as hidden object scenes are challenging and play out with top quality much like Dark Parables. Trying to get all the hidden object morphing objects was a scream at times especially the book--which it was on the 2nd page! Really?
Also achieving gold medals in the HOP Extras was another hair puller especially matching flowers. Yikes! Flowers are NOT my specialty. Got them all even though they were challenging.

Breathtaking artwork! Smooth gameplay! Very pleased with The Whispering Marsh and definitely recommend.

A GAME WITH AN UNFOLDING STORY--AT LAST! Gamers usually are thrust into a game with the main problem, bad guy, situation presented and we run around trying to catch up. Based on the demo, there's a big problem, yes, however the psychological warning indeed prepares gamers for yet more drama to unfold. So, thanks for the warning as it is very much appropriate as more Developers should take heed.
A little quirky, yes, however, Developers are attempting to make the pieces fit such as why this family purchased and moved to this horrendous house. Ah---they are going to open a Bed & Breakfast! Makes sense! Music is appropriate as are the hidden objects and scenes. Developers created an entire family in this game--father, mother, children, niece and should be applauded for their fine work.

Believe it or not, purchased the Standard Edition and now purchasing the Collector's Edition. Did the same with the 1st Phantasmat.
Well written, do-able hidden objects, interesting puzzles. Ancient Egypt in modern times is the story back drop. Bold, beautiful scenes, Interesting story, on the edge of my seat, glued to the computer, that good of a game!

One of the best games I've ever played in this so many years. Well written with no skimping on any level. Elephant Games Developers presents top-notch high quality gaming!
Darling, handsome James is very brave and daring, however, he always seems to get himself into impossible situations and needs our help. Ancient Egyptian lore in modern times is the story back drop. It's a jaw dropping, great game filled with mystery and time is of the essence apprehension. One of my all time favorites!
There's running to and fro, yes, however, these were the better gaming days when games had challenge and a story that blended. Sadly, I believe that due to so many gamer complaints, we're stuck with mostly boring games.
Elephant Games to the rescue! Play some of their older Haunted Hotel games especially Death Sentence and you'll see the difference. Definitely recommend the Collector's Edition! Enjoy! -Mama Mia-

Had left rave review for the CE and that based on demo and mistakenly thinking this was the Elephant Games developer.
Pros - great computer graphics
Cons - poor story line, zero challenge and most of all, NO JAMES! May sound silly, however, he and you--meaning we the gamers are a great detective team. Where once was a well thought out and well written story has turned into what another reviewer pointed out to be running after objects to put here and there.

Mr. Turner was surrounded by people who could all benefit from his death, but who actually murdered him? Play the detective in this classic whodunit mystery!

Straightforward, simplistic 2013 hidden object plays much like a point and click. For sure, gamers will recognized one voice Lani Minelli. Very few players and scenes. Journal holds lots of information regarding suspects and evidence.

A 2013 game never to have been repeated, the Guide is needed for so much back and forth. Bonus content, collectible skulls and achievements await gamers who have time to put the pieces back where they all belong. It's a challenge for sure!

A great chase is on! Gamer has hidden objects and puzzles to help go after the bad guy. EIPIX presents another outstanding Danse Macabre sequel to wrap our mind around.
Game moves quickly, smoothly and flawlessly. There is no comparing to the 1st in the series as that was still the absolute best hands down.
