A wonderful HO/Adventure game which runs like a dream and has enough of a plot to keep the player gripped. I am playing the Bonus chapter at the moment, which is just as good as the regular game. I like to play for relaxation rather than challenge and this game has a good balance of both. Mini-games are fun and relevant, hint reloads quickly for the Casual player, objectives are clear and the map is great for dashing about. Graphics are excellent - bright, sophisticated - and really draw you in. The music adds to the atmosphere (but I usually play silently). This game involves the legend of Rapunzel, possessed toys, a very weird village and lots to do to help the people and animals you meet - 11/10 for me. :-)

A charming and quite scary HO game with a decent plot, beautiful graphics and a good but not headbanging level of challenge. Mini games are fun and relevant, it includes a useful map and quick-filling hints button. Oh and you have a cute assistant - Bertha the shape-shifting ferret! All I wanted as a casual player and I hope a Collector's version comes out soon as it's well-deserved. :-)

This is a visually stunning game with a real story to it. Hidden objects are a feast for the eyes; mini-games are fun and not too taxing; lots to do and I'm glad I got the CE with extras! Great for HO fans who love a touch of Gothic fantasy. I must add the music is lovely, too and adds to the game rather than being intrusive as can sometimes happen.

What can I say about this game that hasn't already been said? It's glorious to look at and listen to, has a proper plot (I assume it ends well - I'm only half way through), offers challenges I found fun rather than frustrating at Casual Level and has such a multitude of HOGs, mini-puzzles and tasks, including "virtual animal care" that it's impossible to be bored! Hints and help are at hand plus a comprehensive Strategy Guide but are not intrusive. This is a great game for first play of the New Year for beginners and seasoned gamers alike. A well-deserved 5 stars all round from me.

I enjoyed bringing the first Cursed House back to its former glory and knew I would enjoy this second one after a few minutes playing the demo. There are new challenges here, as you match-three to dispatch demons, light torches and open the locks to a series of mysterious rooms. The challenge level is good, there are timed and untimed play options and plenty of variety in the tasks to be completed in order to open another door. Great fun!

As you'll know, if you read my review of Dreamland, I've just started playing this type of HO game and need all the help I can get! "Final Cut" is GREAT to play in any mode and has an exciting story line. It's based around the murder mystery of a film director in the 1950's but has a lot more to it. You investigate spooky old film sets and abandoned lots, museums, veteran cars, pirate ships - all to find the parts of a film projector which can warp and control the mind . . . fantastic stuff! Graphics are stunning, hints charge quickly, mini-games are fun with an average level of challenge, moving around is straightforward as the hint button will direct you without penalty. Live actors with CGI help create atmosphere and I guarantee you will be engrossed and ready to purchase way before the trial hour is up. I do hope the game's creators offer more games to BigFish, though this one will be a hard act to follow!
OK, I'll come clean. I'm over 50 and have recently started playing computer games. Having tackled quite a few of the straightforward HO games here, and being a lover of old fairgrounds, I decided to have a go at "Dreamland". What an experience! This game had me gripped from the start with its stunning graphics, challenging - but not impossible - hidden object scenes and mini games all wrapped up in a proper plot. I needed a few hints to play; they recharge quite quickly at the casual player level. There is a lot of variety here to keep you engrossed and a lot of creative imagination has gone into making "Dreamland" a great experience. My one tiny gripe is that the ending could have been a little more dramatic . . . still, it's the first game of its kind I have EVER played right through, so well done, BFG for entertaining this old duffer for a week!
