I actually have the standard version of this game, and I don't think it's available anymore - that's how old it is. One of my very favorites. Gorgeous soundtrack, graphics, everthing. I played the hard mode, and didn't need to resort to cheat sheets too often. Can't beat the older games for quality and storyline. If you are looking to battle monsters and super hard HOPs, this isn't the game for you. Just a nice relaxing time with a game (well, except for the few times you want to pull your hair out!. Buy it. You will adore it.
Dark Parables is an extensive series of games, some were pretty good. This was not my favorite. The Exiled Prince was what I call an "elegant" game. Great story, wonderul music, good puzzles. Graphics are beautiful. Goldilocks drags on forever with some ridiculously strange puzzles (with horrible directions), and HOPs that were so loaded with stuff you could hardly identify what you were looking for. After a while, I got tired of looking for stuff in this too large of a file game. Too repetitive, and couldn't wait for it to be over. Grab the Exiled Prince - you will love it.
I don't recommend this game.

I loved this game. I don't know how old it is, but for me, it's reminiscent of the older games that grab you with a sense of style, a great storyline, and music appropriate to that storyline. For me, some of the puzzles were way overboard (pun intended.) It's really fun, though, and a great way to relax. Buys this game - you won't regret your choice.
This is an old game from 2010, but as I've said in previous reviews, some of the older games are the best. Phantom of the Opera is no exception. You won't get bored with this game - it moves at a great pace. A large file game, but you won't get sick of playing it, because it's length doesn't deter from reaching it's objective. It seems there is something intriguing throughout the game, and that's what keeps it moving. Buy this game - you'll enjoy playing it again and again over the years.
A lot of the older games (2011 - old in computer years!) are the best. This is no exception. I agree with so many of the reviewers - great music, graphics, puzzles. I always play casual mode, so if you're looking for a super challenge, I don't know if you'll find it here. There are certain puzzles that I have found in most other games that I just don't get - but most of these puzzles are doable, and fun. The entire game is fun. If you enjoy this one, you'll probably love Phantom of the Opera. I didn't check it out, but the music in B&B sounds similar to that of P of the O, so they may have been designed by the same programmers. Anyway, try both these games - if you like one, you'll like the other.

I believe this game was released in 2012, but it's still one of my very favorites that I've played many times - for me, sort of like the "comfort food" of games - something familiar and likable when you want to kick back and relax. Nothing taxing here, just enjoyable. Since there are many different locations, the hint button is a great help to get around when you get lost. I agree with most of the reviews that it's nice to have a different story line other than fighting demons and dragons and wizards. This story has a wonderful supporting character which I won't reveal. Play the game. You'll love it.
I like Blue Tea Games; their "Jade Dragon Staff" is one of my favorites. This game, however, fell far short. Nice visuals and music, but there is too much going on. It got to be a real snooze after awhile because this game is all over the place, and I couldn't remember where anything belonged. Every time I thought I was making progress, there was another HOP. I didn't even finish the game. The (very true) adage "Sometimes less is more" perfectly sums up this game. A big disappointment.
This is one of my all-time favorite games. To use a phrase that makes some people blanch, they just don't make 'em like this anymore. In it's day, it was the biggest thing Mystery Case Files had ever done, and what a drastic change it was. I would guess that it's presentation was rather forward for it's day. Gorgeous musical score by Deutsche Film Orchestra of Berlin, which I believe you can still purchase separately (and if you love light classical, you will probably want it) This mysterious, haunting score absolutely sets the many moods of this game. I think it was the best of the Ravenhurst series - for me, the following games of the series went south quickly. By all means, play the 60 minute trial, and I'm sure you will love it.
I purchased this game in 2012, which, I guess, makes it an "old game," but a great one. I call several of these older games elegant (Shaolin Mystery: Jade Dragon Staff; Return to Ravenhurt; Dire Grove, to name a few) because the graphics are beautifully detailed, and the music is gorgeous. It's an easy paced casual game with great puzzles that are doable unique, and fun. Relaxing, with a theme that plays on the fairy tale "The Frog Prince." With it's mysterious atmosphere and haunting score, this is a very enjoyable game.
This is a fun game that doesn't drag on endlessly. Some games have puzzles that are frustrating rather than fun, but these are doable. It's not a complicated game; you won't have to constantly hit the hint button or refer to the walkthrough. It's not a large file game, so you won't forget where locations are. One of the most fun games I've played in a long time, with a fun twist at the end. If you want a game that keeps you up nights trying to figure it out, don't buy this one. Otherwise, enjoy.
