I've had this game for years and I periodically check back here to see if anything similar to it has come out. It's very unique and takes a minute or two to get the concept of the game, but once I figured out a few strategies, it wasn't too hard. There are options of difficulty, but even on easy mode it may take you a few tries to win. I didn't mind this. It would've been too easy otherwise. You're matching cards to create different sets for your house. The game itself has multiple variations where you're picking out furniture, paint, yard accessories, entertainment, etc. Each game has its own unique way to play. A few of the games, for example, require you to go to a "yard sale" to collect the cards you need. In another game, you work as a team with your neighbors to create sets. The neighbors can get quite frustrating when they're stealing from you or making you lose a turn. I might have yelled at them once or twice.
Even after completing all 10 rounds of the game, I've enjoyed going back to earn the three trophies available for each round. I still haven't been able to get all the trophies yet, as some of the tasks are quite challenging. That being said, I've owned this game for YEARS and thought I should leave a review since it's the one I keep coming back to over and over whenever I don't have anything new to play (that and Fairy Godmother Tycoon). I haven't had any luck in finding games similar to this one, but I hope BF makes one soon!
I recommend this game!

I loved this game! I'm surprised it's not listed in the 'Brain Games' category because you need logic skills to solve the puzzles. The theme for the game is murder-mystery. Using clues and the process of elimination, you need to identify where key characters, weapons, and victims are in a house of varying levels. The challenge increases the further along you get. I wish BF had more games like this one!

I love this game despite it's moderately easy level of challenge. The graphics are stunningly beautiful and the narrator's voice does an excellent job of providing a creep factor to the game. I love anything that gets me into the Halloween mood and this game does just that. It's not adventure based at all, really. It's either HO or some brief puzzles, so if that's what you're looking for, I don't think you'll be disappointed.
I recommend this game!

that this is an excellent game! I've absolutely loved all the Midnight Mysteries games, staring with the Salem Witch Trials version. This game asks you to unravel the mystery surrounding the famous magician Harry Houdini's suspicious death. The graphics are crisp, clean, and not too dark. They storyline is superb and it has a few make-you-jump moments. It's very convenient that the Deluxe Edition includes the in-game strategy guide in case you get stuck. There are three different ways to play depending on your experience with these types of games. Hope you enjoy it! I know I have and will continue to in the future.
I recommend this game!

I've played a lot of strategy/HO games and despite that, I still find a lot of the games on BF to be challenging and entertaining. This game was not so. The graphics were a little flat, but the storyline wasn't bad. It wasn't enough to keep me interested, though. The challenges were incredibly easy and when you find objects you use them right away. There wasn't much thought as to what I needed to look for because it was always nearby and it was laughable how simple the tasks really were. I'm not a pro at these games, like the said, but this one was way too easy. The storyline was the best part and even that left a little to be desired. Overall, it took about 3-4 hours to get through this.
I don't recommend this game.

I have played every Nancy Drew game in the series and as the games have progressed, I feel they've surpassed all others in the strategy and simulation genres. Of all the Nancy Drew games, this one is quite spectacular.
The graphics are beautiful and clear and the dark, rainy weather really sets the tone for the game. The storyline is fantastic and it keeps you guessing until the very end. The characters are very authentic and the game play is challenging throughout.
I still come back to this game from time to time because it is so enjoyable. If you've never tried the Nancy Drew series, this would be a great game to start with!
I recommend this game!
