The game had some interesting ideas early on, but these lasted only a short time. It had a silly story and offered very poor puzzles. Overall, it was just a poor-quality hidden object game that had MCF pinned to it in order to increase sales.

A unique puzzle game inspired by sliding puzzle and platformer games. Explore a toymaker’s mansion and solve tricky slider puzzles!

Absolutely gorgeous graphics highlight this well designed puzzle game. Progression from level to level is is fair and well planned. The emphasis is on fun and thinking, not on overwhelming you with gimmicks and trickery. Highly recommended if you like a fun puzzle game that is relaxing ... but also also makes you learn and think.
I recommend this game!

Highly recommended! Very creative and very well designed.
As the developers state, it is a casual action role-playing game. A type of game not often seen on this site. But if this has appeal to you, the game is a LOT of fun.

'Shallow' Lake rather than Shadow Lake.

In the past, playing Mystery Case Files was always a highlight. This year, not so much.
The first 45 minutes to an hour were actually very promising of a much needed new approach to HOG's, but then it just lost steam. Play became repetitive ...same types of tasks and level of challenge throughout. The story turned bizarre ...searching for a banana-shaped artifact. The ending was sudden, unchallenging, and forgettable...you spend 10 seconds at the games namesake, Shadow Lake.
It is really a 3.5-star game, except my expectations were much higher so I ended with a profound sense of disappointment. Could have been called 'Shallow' Lake rather than Shadow Lake.
I don't recommend this game.
