I love the context of this game. It is filled with more puzzles than HOPS. My greatest concern of this game is its slow pace. There is a story and cut scenes one after another. You can skip each but then you lose a bit of the idea as to what you are doing. If you like story over playing HOPs and puzzles you will like this game.
I recommend this game!

I'm not sure what happened to Home Makeover 2, but this game is a disaster. You have lots of screens to pop through to read all the information she is giving. I thought maybe something was wrong with my sound as the lips move but there is no voice. Started game over figuring it might be a compatibility issue but it was not.
Sometimes finding the items in the silhouettes is very difficult because the items are generic to several items in the screen. Interesting to see though in the silhouette version, all of a sudden you get the picture. Weird process.
In the earlier version all you had to do was skim over the coins to pick them now. Now you actually need to click on them. I have always hated this feature in every game of this type. I have bought and played all the Gardenscape games, which have a similar process.
You are not working on the house to repair either, unless that happens further along in the game. You start out fixing the mailbox and the garden. In the first Home Makeover if you collect $20,000 you end up with remodeling the outside of the house.
There are Match 3 games like the previous version, but now you need to select buttons on the home screen to actually do this. I also found that I played sales after sales after sales and my money wasn't being collected. I'm not sure if the game crashed.
For being a series the format of this game changed drastically from the first and became more complicated thus making it very disappointing.
I don't recommend this game.

This game has a hidden challenge. You are to build pyramids allowing your brothers to escape. You are given star credits based on how long it takes you to fill the meter.
If you fill the meter within the first set number of tries given, you get the most star points. If you fill the meter with the next set of tries, you get less and then you have a third try. If you don't fill the meter within those tries you get a minimum number of stars.
Then you build the pyramids based upon your accomplishments. Throughout the game you can buy helps. The first that you can afford is the green guy and you get a frog. After making a match of 5, he appears on the screen. He can jump diagonally. Each little brother has its own help. Each has to be purchased. There are 3 levels of helps per brother. Each level costs more stars.
It is challenging to meet the first set of tries. Then the cost rises. It seems like a simple game, but it is challenging.
I recommend this game!

This is a variety of Match 3 games. You don't play the same type of game all at once but each room rotates though them. It is a nice change of pace. The goal is easy to see as you are trying to unlock doors. The rest of the story line is obscure. The music is a very relaxing piece. It is used in meditation classes.
I recommend this game!

What is wrong with the all the complaints from reviewers? This is a series that has not changed a lot from earlier games. Do not mixup "Jewel Quest" with this one, which is "Jewel Quest Mysteries." This game is the same as earlier versions. Complaints about music can always be resolved by turning it off and playing your own. Finding the 3 discs to add hints, collecting jewels to buy help, and finding the parts for the match 3 games are all standard for this series. The constant voice overs are also part of this game to provide background history lessons and also to talk between the three characters in the story. It can be annoying if all you want to do is play, but if you really look at other games this is only bothersome because it pops up in the scene instead of being on its own screen. Repeating HOS with different people is no different than repesting HOS in other games. How many other games do you go back to same HOS several times? This is different in that you are repeating them as different people. You also don't spend time walking through the game to repeat scenes. HOS picture quality could be a little better but it isn't that bad. Its purpose is to challenge finding objects, which it does. Expert gamers are upset over having to go through all the help boxes. They need to remember every game has to be made as if this is the first time a person has ever played it. Get over it. You don't have to listen to or read every box that comes up. One click will close the box and again turn off the voice in options. I think some of these reviews are taking away the enjoyment for people with all the negative comments. Reviews should not be for just experts or people who always play games. If I were new to Big Fish Game and saw all the constant negative comments I most likely would never buy a game.
I recommend this game!
