I was so excited about this game. I own EVERY Build-a-lot that's been released, and I love F2P games, so it was like a perfect combination.
The timer is too fast. Like, WAY too fast. I'm very experienced with with BAL games, so I knew what I was doing, and still couldn't get more than one star and most of the levels I played (about 8). I had to come to Big Fish to even figure out all the functions - like how to flip a house. No instructions, nothing.
This isn't fun - it's frustrating and aggravating and I wanted to like it, and I still could...if they weren't so desperate to sell me the permanent upgrades that they made the game almost impossible to play without them. I hope they make improvements.
I don't recommend this game for anyone that doesn't want to punch pillows in anger after one level. If you like BAL, then just buy their actual games - it would probably still be cheaper than buying all the in game upgrades available in this game.
I don't recommend this game.

I love farming, so I was very hopeful for this game. I made it through the whole demo, but honestly, I'm still feeling a little woozy from the game controls.
It was impossible to stay zoomed out, which was the only way to effectively play the game, because every time you clicked an animal it would zoom into them. Better hope you don't misclick, like ever, because you'll end up on the other side of the farm...over and over.
Worst part for me was that there was ALWAYS something to do. Normally, that's fine. But I'd clean my farm and right as I'm sweeping up the latest pile of...animal mess...3 more would pop up on the screen. And it's not like it takes one click to make it disappear; you have to brush back and forth at least 10 times. Cleaning animals was even worse because you can't even tell they're dirty 99% of the time. If you let your animals go for any length of time without cleaning them, your friendly neighbor pops by and TAKES UP THE WHOLE SCREEN to tell you your animals are going to run away if you don't clean them right that instant. By the time the demo was up, I had over 40 animals....do you have any idea how difficult it is to feed all of them, let alone clean them?
If the controls were easier, and the animals/farm stayed clean longer, I'd probably like it more. I also disliked the way the item production worked, but that wasn't the end of the world, just something to get used to. I think some previous reviewers were confused and thought their items were disappearing if they didn't click them right away, but the game actually piles multiple items together (like, if you have more than two ostriches, when they lay eggs, they appear then "disappear" to one form one group of all the eggs...the issue is there's no indication that this is what's happening, and it only happens if you have more than two items).
I highly suggest playing the demo of this game first. If you can play without getting motion sickness, maybe you'll have a fun time playing :)
I don't recommend this game.

If you have problems differentiating between hues, this is NOT the game for you. However, I really loved the challenge on this HO, and the storyline is very interesting. I admit, I appreciate HO games that, once you clean a room of something, it stays gone! It feels like you've made progress in a substantial way (I mean, really, those games where you're "cleaning" a house and you're constantly "cleaning" the same objects over and over...)
Only reason I can't give this 5 stars is the extra diamonds you can find. It's not a requirement, but I'm a completionist, so I found it frustrating that I could find 8-9 of the 10 diamonds in each scene, but could only find the 10th one on a few. Some of them are VERY difficult to find, and I don't want to spend 30+ minutes after I've completed an area staring at the screen trying to find the last diamond. Fortunately, you can come back to scenes, even after you've completed them, which is excellent.
I'd definitely recommend this game if you like challenges. If you're easily frustrated, or prefer HOs that have tons of objects that you're picking a few items out of, you should avoid this game.
I recommend this game!

Not one I would recommend. Takes some work to hit expert on every level, which is definitely a plus in my book, but the upgrades were prohibitively expensive. By the time I reached the second stage, it would take three expert ratings to get one upgrade...and there were QUITE a few things to upgrade. I wasn't even close to maxing out the upgrades when I finished the first stage. Grinding levels over and over to get more cash is not something I enjoy (and to be honest, I don't even know if it's possible since I didn't attempt it).
If you're looking for a fun TM game, there are definitely better options.
I don't recommend this game.
