The developers' creativity never ceases to amaze me! The storyline is as interesting and well done as usual, the graphics are beautifully immersive, new music has been added but there is still plenty of the familiar music we associate with the series, and game play has some added challenges! Is it wrong to say that I'm already looking forward to the next game in the series? I can't wait to see what's next!
I've played these games since the first in the series, and each one is better than the last. How is it possible that the team is so incredibly creative?! Very few games are as consistently replayable as this series, and the newest entry is every bit as enjoyable as those that came before. Adding camels, magic carpets and pressing the advisory crow into active service added new and interesting challenges without overdoing complexity. And the graphics are beautiful, as always. It's a brilliant series, and I'm anxiously looking forward to the next addition!
I am continuously amazed at the creativity of the developers of the New Yankee series of games. The scenes are beautiful, detailed and continually evolving, and the background music is the perfect accompaniment. The storyline continues to remain interesting, and the characters are both consistent and charming. And game play itself continues to evolve in ways that are incredibly creative while remaining true to expectations for the series. The developers have broken the code when it comes to consistently turning out high quality games that time management fans embrace. Is it wrong to say I can't wait for New Yankee 10? Brava to the team for another outstanding game!
I've enjoyed the New Yankee series since the first game debuted, but I stand in awe of the developer's ability to continue to challenge, surprise and delight the player.
With the exception of Lancaster and the dragons, all our old favorites are back to face enemies new and old as our heroes make new friends romping, tromping and sailing their way through Ancient Greece. The storyline is sound, the artwork breathtaking, and the extra levels make the CE well worth buying.
An all around excellent job, once again. Another, please!

It's been more than two years since the last installment in the Hidden Expedition series and I was beginning to think we weren't going to see another one, but Smithsonian Hope Diamond was well worth the wait. With the high quality graphics, puzzles and music we've all come to expect from Big Fish Studios, Smithsonian Hope Diamond is a standout in the series, with a tightly integrated storyline that doesn't veer too far into the fantastical and game mechanics that permit the game to be enjoyed by players with all levels of expertise. A solidly replayable, high-quality game that won't give you nightmares or cause you to constantly wonder if the developers may be in need of serious counseling!
Discover the fabulous secrets that a jungle hides in Adelantado Trilogy: Book One! Help the brave and noble officer, Don Diego De Leon, to find and save the lost expedition.
I tried this game primarily because of the consistently good reviews it received here and, because I did not enjoy it, I wanted to write a review that reflected my experience in order to encourage others to try the game before buying it as even those of us who enjoy Time Management and builder games may not like this one.
My primary disappointment with the game was the lack of an adequate tutorial with respect to game mechanics. The text referred extensively to cutting trees in the area surrounding the woodsman's house, for example, to send wood to the sawmill, but there was no direction as to how to actually CUT the trees and I couldn't figure out how to do it. Similarly, villagers came to pick fruit from bushes in the farm, but they appeared to do that entirely on their own and without requiring a click. The player was specifically directed to which buildings to build and when and, while this was successfully accomplished, it was a drag on gameplay and foreclosed independent thought and strategy. The developers simply failed to establish the foundation necessary for me to understand how to play the game.
The story was advanced through scenes that I found to be superficial, choppy and incomplete. I would have overlooked this had the game been enjoyable to play but it was a missed opportunity to take the game to a higher level.
Visuals tended to be on the small side but were generally comparable to certain other games on the market and were adequate. References to stunning graphics by others lead me to wonder if we were even playing the same game as I found the graphics adequate but not particularly outstanding.
I did not find this game to be particularly similar to Roads of Rome or My Kingdom for the Princess, as other comments have suggested. It may be similar to Virtual Villagers, which I did not enjoy.
Those who like the game seem to really like it, so I would not discourage others from trying it, but I would encourage you to try before you buy as it is not everyone's cup of tea.

If you haven't bought this game already, buy it now! At $2.99, it's a terrific value.
Plusses we don't always see in time management games include a solid story line appropriate to the game, good music and voice acting, and great graphics. Length of play is good, and it's diverse enough to maintain interest in replaying. (I bought it when it first came out but just replayed it myself about a month or so ago!)
Even though this game initially came out awhile ago, it holds its own with newer TM games and, at $2.99, you won't regret buying this one.
