Some games I like to play for their soothing ASMR qualities, without so much spookiness, murder, and decay and bug-filled scenes and objects. This game fits that about 90 percent of the time. It's not as pretty as the Agatha Christie or Dream Day Wedding series, but you can skip the cutscenes, the mini games are extremely easy, you never have to guess where to go next, you can replenish the hints at will, and you don't have to find "tools" like rope, scissors, fire, etc, just to move the game along. Ideal game for younger kids tired of the I Spy series. The objects themselves can be challenging to find, but they all fit the scenes they're in, and you can go "home" to get more hints if you run out.
I recommend this game!

Through the creaking gates, you’d best beware. A spooky mansion awaits, enter if you dare! Explore the inside of a scary house.

Ideal for kids and fun for adults looking for childhood-Halloween-level scary. (Ravenhearst this is not.) You do have to play through the mini-puzzles, but they aren't difficult. The game isn't timed and the narrator gives positive feedback. I enjoyed that clicking on many objects made them interact (cat meows, snake slithers, etc). I played with my six-year-old niece in 1999 and we were both hooked. I'm so glad this genre has taken off!
I recommend this game!
