Big Kahuna Reef was one of the first match 3 games I've ever played and it was great: the amount of explosions at any given time really made it stand out in a sea of other games in this genre.
The 3rd entry is more of that, but not updated at all graphically. It's a blurry, stretched out mess that is not designed for modern computers at all. It seems like the devs just used the same game engine, created a bunch of new levels and just tacked a 3 on to the end of Big Kahuna Reef 2. It's still fun, but it definitely doesn't look good.
I recommend this game!

If you're playing this on a modern PC/Mac, just don't: this game has not aged well at all. Most games on BFG are not optimized for higher resolution monitors, but this game is barely optimized to run at 480p it seems like. I feels like playing something developed in 1995: slow, clunky and a blurry mess that'll make your eyes hurt.
I don't recommend this game.

This is a far cry from the traditional Luxor setting but I commend the devs for trying something completely different.
It fun, very fast paced, has an amazing soundtrack and is over too soon. Too bad this was the last entry into the franchise. Luxor was definitely the king of marble poppers.
I recommend this game!

I wish Luxor would make a comeback!
Luxor 3 is stunning in every way. It looks fantastic, plays fantastic and introduced so many new features and level types.
The "3D" levels are unprecedented and unmatched by any other game in this genre.
The amount of effort and passion that went into this is clearly visible. Even the games that succeeded it weren't able to surpass Luxor 3 in how absolutely groundbreaking it was when it came out.
If you're planning on getting a Luxor game, get this one and pretend anything after it doesn't exist (except Luxor Evolved - that one's pretty good).
I recommend this game!

I'm gonna sum this up in short phrases:
- art-style: pretty good. Great scenes and vibrant color palette.
- story: passable. Nothing too unique or interesting.
- puzzles: good. You won't see anything new, but nothing's bad.
- spookiness: non-existent. But then again it's a hidden object game, so it's to be expected.
- cons: bugs. Pretty annoying input lag on Win 10. You click on something and it reacts a few seconds later. Cutscenes stutter and the music doesn't play outside of cutscenes at all, even though it should.
Overall rating: it's ok. Get it on a sale though, not at full price.
I recommend this game!

As far as Hidden Expedition storylines go, this one isn't too bad. There's some actual thought to it and the ending is satisfying. I wish they would stop recycling the age old "former high ranking agent turned rogue" plot but other than that the characters are actually half decent in this one.
The bonus game is actually even more interesting than the main game.
The settings are some of the best in the series and there's plenty of variety in the puzzles and hidden object scenes,
Overall a pretty good pick amongst the by now 19+ entries to the series.
I recommend this game!

Like many other reviews have stated, this is definitely one of the best HE entries. Even going back to it after so many more releases, makes it stand out for it's decent story, great locations and varied puzzles and hidden object scenes. If you're planning to get into Hidden Expedition, Smithsonian Hope Diamond is a great place to start!
I recommend this game!

The story starts out quite interesting: in the jungle, looking for ancient artifacts that guard an unknown mystery, and then it all goes downhill from there.
The next chapters have boring locations (laboratories and metro stations).
The story has been recycled a dozen times over (there's a mole within HELP or a disgruntled former/current HELP agent).
Worst of all: there's no satisfying conclusion to the game (SPOILERS: we never find out what the staff actually guarded) which renders the entire storyline pointless.
The art style is fine and the puzzles are ok, but otherwise this is an extremely boring story that adds nothing new to the series and ends without a proper ending.
I don't recommend this game.
