I liked this one. As usual from this dev it was beautiful to look at, there were some great achievements and there were collectibles. The story moved along quickly. I love the little mini games where you have to put things in place to hear the story. I also liked how the extra chapter wrapped up the story in a very satisfying way. There was a lot to do here and it had some really beautiful scenes. My only critique was that the storyline seemed a bit well, sort of been there, seen that for me. Now that may be because I play A LOT of these games and have seen it several times before but if you haven't then you may not feel that way. This game is very well put together with an actual story and some very good extras. Even when you finish both the main game and the extra chapter there were still things to do. I happen to really like this dev as they usually tend to think outside the box a bit. This one is well worth buying and I would for sure recommend it. As a matter of fact, I would recommend you play all their games as they are really well done.
I recommend this game!

I loved the first game of this series.. not sure if I played the second?.. but this one just seems tired. Gone are the crisp bright graphics. Everything here is brown, brownish red and purple. And small. The storyline started out okay but then became a series of find these pieces to get that. over and over. It might have been better with some talking from her but I often forgot what I was doing and why. This is missing, back forth back forth. We hardly use the ship, tired old mini games.. two turn the pipes games for example and some rather silly stuff. Put down a piece of cheese to get the mouse to scare the elephant to drop a bottle. right okay. I dunno. There was no flow here, no drama, no excitement. Just a very long series of it's missing and lots of back and forth back forth back forth.. find this piece for that.. this is now missing, find this piece for that, this is now missing. . It almost put me to sleep several times. Not much for achievements. mostly just for playing the game. Some collectibles. These guys needed to inject some life into this game. For me it just made me wonder why I was doing this.
I don't recommend this game.

Well this one sure had some great characters. Very magical with elves, fairies, witches and gnomes without being too cutesy or kiddie. My favourite one was the leprechaun who appeared throughout the game and extra chapter. This one had it all. It was quite a good length, had collectible shoes, achievements that you really had to strive for (which IMHO makes them more worthwhile when you get them) an array of HO scenes and lots of interesting puzzles. The graphics were lovely and the music was pretty good too. I actually even enjoyed the extra chapter, which for me doesn't happen all that often. There was a mini game that appeared throughout where you talk with the characters and you must choose the right answer. I would sometimes purposely pick the wrong one just to hear their funny responses. This game really had the most important thing a game can have. It was really fun to play and made me laugh several times. Very good. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Bravo
I recommend this game!

This game looked beautiful and so because I liked the first one and it looked so nice, I bought it. However not too far into it, it began to look familiar. You know those games where they have the woman/child pleading to be saved? ugh With the oddly drawn male bad guy, the dumbed down everything, the big eyed pet that you get to name? This was that game no matter who they say the dev is. It was dumbed down even to the point that the strategy guide is all in pictures for us illiterate folk. OMG! So if you wanted to keep track of what collectible number you were on so that you don't miss any, you had to click through 20 pages. Really bad! Add to that that it didn't keep pace with you and you had to click through those every time. I play on advanced and so I don't expect to be outright told when to use my pet each time. I don't need or want that kind of help. Sooo although I tried valiantly, I just could not finish this one. The beautiful graphics only carry the game so far. I stopped playing/buying these a long time ago and even though this one did have some achievements, some collectibles and beautiful locations, it just could not let go of all the reasons I stopped playing these in the first place. The overly cutesy stuff, the no challenge at all, the please save me from the women and children, and the same tired old storyline. There is no challenge here and IMHO the game is terrible. I made it about half way I think and then moved on to bigger and better things. Too bad because I like the first game in this series. Maybe in the hands of a different dev. they could regain the magic but this one ..not for me.
I don't recommend this game.

I liked this one despite the glitch that makes you restart the whole thing all over again when two thirds of the way through you don't use the machete in the order the dev's anticipated and it disappears from your inventory. You then cannot move forward. But I did enjoy this one. I loved how the objectives appeared at the top of the screen, the mini games were quite varied and it had both collectibles and morphing objects. There was a kind of new twist with some objects held vertically on the right hand side of the screen which you occasionally gave to a judge in a courtroom. They also set off a little video that gave you background info about the story. As always with Elephant games the HO's were pretty easy and several of the achievements were tied to them. The locations were beautiful as always. I will say that this game both looked and felt a lot like others in the series. Always taking place in the castle, someone in trouble and needing my help etc etc. It was fun though and I did like it. It had a lot to offer. It was a good length, pretty and with a fair amount to do.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed this game. The storyline was engaging right to the very end, the VO's were great and there were a ton of things to do. Three different collectibles, morphing objects and lots and lots of locations. I absolutely love how detailed this dev is. If there were bridges in the background, there were people crossing them, light beams stream through the clouds and into windows, butterflies fly past, the occasional leaf falls to the ground, birds fly in the sky and on and on. It really gives the game that polished look and the sense that the developers really care about the finished product. really well done. There were plenty of extras and overall this had almost everything. So why no fifth star? Well for my one and only complaint.. the mini games were dead easy.. and I mean super simplistic. The only flaw in an other wise perfect game. But I say don't let that stop you. There is sooo much to enjoy here. Almost flawless. Really loved it.
I recommend this game!

Yayy!! a real storyline. I loved everything about this game. How both the collectible notes and the morphing objects had icons that would change color once you found them. The storyline was really great. Murder, voodoo, people being brought back to life.. or were they? Really interesting. Great graphics with lots of detail. Tons of locations, great jazzy music, good VO's and even a decent extra chapter. This one is a must have. Worth every penny and definitely worth the CE value. My only critique is that the mini games were really easy.. too easy for me but never mind... the game is awesome and really beautifully put together. I really loved it and was sorry to see it end.
I recommend this game!

Here we go again. Save the kidnapped whoever from the evil whatever. I just can't stand it anymore. Are there NO other storylines???? Come on!! you cannot just give us the same game over and over and over and expect us to keep buying it! How many times can you buy the same game?? The little girl kidnapped by the evil warlock who.. of course.. wants to take over the world. yawn oh please Not again? So we begin. A castle, giant rats. Everything run down. HO scenes all brown on brown. Ghosts that appear that need something like say a ring before they can be free. Is this sounding familiar? The achievements were cute you could go evil and kill stuff or go angel and not. But for me that's just not enough. I realized about half way in that I could stop this minute and not care one bit about what happens. I've just played it in so many different forms before. So I did. I quit and will move on to something hopefully brighter and more colorful where no one goes missing. I can barely stand that storyline one more time. I tried to like this one but it's just too old and worn for me. On to better and brighter pastures.
I don't recommend this game.

This game was a short HOP with a few mini games thrown in just to break up the monotony. What was there was well done. The Ho scenes were good and the VO's were quite well done especially the killers. But that's all there was. HOP after HOP after HO..sometimes as many as six in a row with a mini game thrown in the middle and the occasional cut scene. What was there was quite well done but because the game was so limited, it made it feel quite old school. If you miss the days of doing HOP's one after another then this game is for you.
I don't recommend this game.

I quite liked this one. Unlike some others, I liked the effect with the projector and how you could switch between the locations. Made finding the collectibles harder. I was going to complain in this review that the first game had 4 collectibles including one that was a mystery.. turned out to be cats and they have become less and less with each additional game. But then I played all the add ons after the extra chapter. I liked how you could go back and find what you had missed including the collectibles and the morphing objects that were in some on HOP's. also helped to complete the achievements. Nice touch! I really appreciated that as I hate not completing a game and that really helped me feel like I had totally finished it. This one was well drawn with lots of beautiful locations, a decent though somewhat predictable storyline, good VO's and some darn good puzzles. I also appreciated that the "it's locked, it's missing" thing were not overly done. It was a fairly good length and had lots of extras like siihouette HO's that were progressive, some inventory objects that you had to build and the projector that would change each location. Very good. . I loved the first one and have liked the following two. A few tweaks to the storyline and an extra collectible or two and this would have been 5 star.
I recommend this game!
