I wasn't sure what to expect. The reviews were very promising, however I've read the books & enjoyed them. Sometimes anything after that can be a disappointment.
I am thrilled to find the game fulfilled every promising review.
There may be quibbles about an excellent level of challenge, but I consider the occasional use of unfamiliar objects an excellent challenge.

A few tips:
1. Points are received for correct picks in the hidden object games & they increase exponentially as long as you pick correctly. Pick incorrectly & the points that you are adding to the total start over in value. If you use the hint button, be looking at the screen. the object glows for a second. There is no comet trail.
2. If you skip a mini-game, you lose 2000 points. I'm not a mini-game person, but you were given enough time in between to rack up the points if you wanted to skip. Some thought took care of most, some games required more thought.
3. If you aren't permitted to go somewhere, you missed something. There is always a reason to be in a room. Usually more than one reason. You are expected to look around.
4. Pay attention to the map & the glowing scroll. The map tells you where you need to be next & the scroll tells you not only what has been done, but what needs to be done.
5. Click on the Chinese phrases & someone in the game will usually translate.
6. Listen to the story line, look at the drawings & the scenery.
Above all, enjoy your murder mystery!
BIP Media & BigBen Interactive did an excellent job with this one. Please may we have more?
I recommend this game!
