I play a lot of hidden object games, and overall, this game is pretty good. However, there were find the difference screens where the left image was totally blank. So finding the difference was, of course, impossible. This happened more than once. Also, some of the rotate pieces puzzles did not register that I had rotated correctly until I did that piece twice. I found the Match 3 games very difficult, and my complaint with the matching pairs games are that the connections can be a bit obtuse. Do you match an arrow with a bow? No. Or a knife with a box cutter? Yes. I will say that the images are colorful, the sea life is great, and its relaxing in atmosphere. But the tech guys need to have a look.
The story dumps you into the situation almost before you know what's going on. I found the premise bland, shallow and boring. Some of the mini games didn't have adequate clarity re: what you're supposed to do or get. I'm a fan of Elephant Games, but not this one.

Like other reviewers, I found this game slow paced and kind of boring. Sometimes I had no idea what to do and even when I did, it was not that exciting. It felt very "small" in overall scope. I like Elephant Games so this was disappointing.

This looks like it would be a fun game, cheerful graphics and nice intro, and I like Suricate as a developer. But I had to click multiple times to make every swap on the Match 3 board, which tells me my mouse finger is going to be very sorry later. And when I opened the settings screen while playing a Match 3 board, there was no way to close it. It was unresponsive. I also couldn't get the tutorials back to understand what some of the special items were. I had to hard quit from my desktop.

And when I say "write" I mean who wrote the storyline (just fragmented and tedious), the Game Guide (Huh? How about some actual guidance?), and the gameplay (what the heck am I supposed to do here?). I found it frustrating because of that, but persevered. Then the payoff at the end was a big "What Just Happened?" Big magical explosion and...bye! I've been playing Big Fish games for years but I have to say this is one of my very least favorite HOPs ever.
Visually a beautiful game but I had a beef with the plot line. The war resumes over a misunderstanding that no one tries to clear up. The plot twist that follows is OK but doesn't change that. Also, the whole game revolves around saving someone and then...turns into a waste of time! The ending was rubbish. My other complaint is the directions for the mini-games. I play a lot of HOGs but I was like, what?? How is this supposed to be played? They could use a good copywriter and story editor.
I thought the game was rich visually, although the storyline was pretty standard fare. But my Mac (running Mojave) couldn't handle the gameplay...my mouse lagged behind and lots of items had to be clicked more than once to register activation, especially in the HOGs and mini-games. I also wasn't a fan of some mini-games, it felt like there were lots of maze-like puzzles to solve. Maybe I would have liked it more if it hadn't been so tedious to interact with.
Overall, I liked this game but when it came to the embedded mini-games, they didn't provide many instructions or reset buttons and I ended up skipping some of them because I wasn't sure what I was supposed to do. Also, the images in the guide are so small they're almost no help. Like the elephant's ear. But the storyline and concept were engaging (even though I sometimes felt they knew nothing about the books they were based on).

I thought the graphics and puzzles in this game were wonderful, it was very engaging and lasted long enough for me to enjoy it through several sessions. If I have one little subtraction, it's the "filmed" interludes in the story (clearly dubbed into English, and without detailed attention to lip-sync) featuring cheezy dialogue, costumes, and acting. But since these don't happen that often and don't hamper the great parts of the HOG, I still recommend it!
