The developers should be congratulated for the time and effort they've put in with all aspects of this game. The story is interesting and unusual, the graphics are beautifully clear, and the game play is varied and fun. I also really enjoyed the music, which is much better quality than most games, with different moods in different parts of the game. There's such a lot to the game as well. It may all be match 3, but it's used in very inventive ways - to move down paths, mix potions and fight monsters. One feature I particularly enjoyed was if you needed to do a part of the game again, there would be different graphics and moves to make, so it's never boring. More like this please, I'm really bored with hidden object games and poor match 3.
I recommend this game!

Why do developers need to fiddle with a format that works?

I really thought there was something wrong with my graphics card when I started playing this. I have all the Jewel Match games and was really looking forward to settling in to a good old play, but no, this is bizarre. The gems are not large, they're huge, and it actually makes it difficult to work out what's going on in the room. I thought well, maybe this is a different developer, but no, for some reason they've thought to themselves, "I know what we'll do, we'll make it the same but bigger." There are some new features, strange four arrowed whizzy things, but they just make the gems go sparkly so just a redesign of something else there, and the crystal rooms have been replaced by pearl rooms, which are very pretty but otherwise identical just bigger. The tortoises/turtles are now clockwork, which is cute, but it's far too easy to get rid of the snails. I played it to the end of the trial and hated it.
I don't recommend this game.

I own all the Roads of Rome, Adelantado and Romans in Britain games, and love them all. I agree that the characters in this one are a bit too cute, and I get unreasonably annoyed at the lazy woman that just sits on a horse watching while the workers run around! That said, it's good to have a game that's really difficult once in a while. I love looking for the caches, but that does slow you down, and I ran out of time even in the very early levels. I'm determined to persevere, but don't think it's worth CE and will be waiting for a sale before purchasing.
I recommend this game!

The graphics in this are beautiful, but the scale of the map even at the beginning is huge, so you can't work out where everything is in relation to each other. By only the second little scenario, I had furious little men jabbering at me with storm clouds and exclamation marks over their heads. Apparently they were starving, unhappy and their sawmill was burning down, but I couldn't get anyone to do anything, they just did their own thing. I just couldn't get my head around the game mechanics in this, and by the time I'd restarted and tried again there was one minute left on the trial. Not enough to go on to purchase it, so this was a no for me, and I so wanted to like it.
I don't recommend this game.

Beautifully designed game, lots to do and lots of levels. A surprising bonus is the quality of the storytelling (gossip) and the actors playing characters. You have to really think about the combination of cards to get the best balance to fight different sorts of monsters, and there's lots of information on what each of the cards do. As you get further down through the levels, there are monsters that bump into you and dislodge the cards, so that's something to watch out for. I'm absolutely loving this game, and when I get to the end I'll go back to the top and play it a different way with a different set of cards, so it has lots of potential for replay. More like this, please, Big Fish!
I recommend this game!

I own all the Cursed House games, and while they keep the same general format, each time the developers come up with something new to tackle. This time they've added electricity, and made the puzzles even trickier to work out. I enjoy the 'spot the difference' puzzles, because the artwork always makes the differences tricky to spot, and these and the solitaire break up the game nicely.
I recommend this game!

The artwork on this game is lovely, and the story is promising, but apart from that it's yet another run around and collect things game. Not only that, it's send the man to run around and collect things while the so-called princess sits in a tent for some reason. Gameplay at the beginning was very slow - the poor man had to run very convoluted routes to get anything. I didn't get past the first few levels because I was bored to tears. Collectors Edition extras appear to be artwork and music only.
I don't recommend this game.

Yes, folks, this would have been a lovely game to play over Christmas, but why oh why has it been released by BFG in February? Unlike other reviewers, I find looped carols, Auld Lang Syne and random Scottish tunes annoying at this time of year and reminiscent of supermarkets in the run-up to Christmas. The scenes are pretty (for Christmas) and the card designs are clear, so that's a plus, but the gameplay is pretty standard. Very disappointed.
I don't recommend this game.

I really enjoyed every bit of this game. It was quite challenging from the very first level, and got more and more complicated as it went on, so it was much more involved than the usual 'go collect things and bring them back' sort of TM game. The graphics were beautiful, and there were some lovely little critters to catch which gave extra manna. It built on previous Mohai games, but was definitely the best so far. The Collector's Edition gave a lot of extra levels, so it was good value.
I recommend this game!

I really enjoyed the graphics and storyline in this game, but it was disappointingly short for a collector's edition. I expected much more intrigue and challenges to overcome, and I got bored of the same battles with random knights in the same style of puzzle. I like the idea of the collectables appearing in each scene, but they were almost impossible to catch in the collector's edition extra chapter.
I don't recommend this game.
