Visuals are absolutely stunning - for a couple of scenes I even took a minute just to observe everything - that's how meticulously and artfully it was done. The storyline itself is not the most unique, however, the world itself was beyond imaginative.
It is rather easy and straightforward, yet, not too easy to bore you. As a matter of fact, it's the perfect level of challenge if you want something light, relaxing and just pleasant.
I definitely expected more from Shiver, to be honest. The storyline was fine, but definitely predictable, and not as eerie as it could've been.
Visually, it was lovely, especially if you are a fan of more pagan/folk tales.
When it comes to the actual game and challenges, it was definitely a tad too "scattered". There were a lot of back-and-forths and the map was definitely a bit confusing. I often felt completely lost and disoriented. Another reason I had to hit the hint button a tad too many times was the lack of logic - some items and their purpose made no sense at all.
So, all in all, it was fine, but I was definitely hoping for more.
Whereas it is definitely not the most unique or challenging game, I genuinely enjoyed it. Graphics are lovely, sounds is good and the storyline was pretty good - I found it rather interesting.
It is not overly complex in any way, but it's just perfect for a cozy, enjoyable afternoon, especially thanks to visuals.
Sound FX were great, occasional thunder, frogs and other little touches were great. I didn't mind the graphics at all, on the contrary, I enjoyed a little bit more old-school aesthetics they employed. The storyline was actually great - I found it pretty engaging, along with the lovely, moody vibe the entire game had. A little bit too much back-and-forths for my taste that probably affected the overall rating. Apart from that, I quite enjoyed it!
Even though the initial premise sounds wonderfully creepy and, therefore, promising, the storyline, tasks and puzzles somehow end up being rather childish and gimmicky.
A lot of old-school back-and-forths, couple of jump scares here and there and a lot of darkness everywhere. Sure, there are some parts that are done with more thought and innovativeness and are more memorable, but overall - at some point I just aimed to finish the game as soon as possible.
I genuinely and truly enjoyed this murder mystery/detective/thriller game. It is super engaging, loved the creepiness factor and gory details here and there - it was applied tastefully and only up to a point to make the entire making process more captivating.
I wish I'd enjoyed this game more. Everything seemed quite promising - graphics, storyline, atmosphere, etc. Still, everything was just a bit too mediocre. Nothing was outstandingly amusing or engaging - ranging from puzzles, HOGs, plot development, etc. The only thing that stood out was the moody/creepy vibe it had throughout.
I was utterly and absolutely captivated by this one. Graphics and voice-overs are impressive and quite engaging, the storyline was quite original and exciting and the HOG were more innovative than usual. I wish I've gotten the CE. Outstandingly good game!
