Visually this is a beautiful game and It has a castle to build. I loved the various backgrounds and the nice card art. I could say my praises end there but that would not be fair! In spite of my unhappy experience I do believe it deserves 5 stars.
I am very skilled at both computer and table solitaire but this game made me feel really stupid! My entire trial time, except for 2 variants, was nothing but replays. I started with the Adventure level, big mistake! Replayed the same hand 8 times. A total flop! Then I changed to Quick Play where I beat 2 variants. There was a big variety to choose from but I got there too late to enjoy much of it. My demo was suddenly over, wasted!
I'm not saying this a bad game at all. To me it just felt like it was set up for the computer to be the victor way too often. I was not keen on having to stay with Quick Play to achieve any measure of success. I love challenges but this was far too much for my patience to endure.
There were no glitches, it ran smooth as silk, not many features but were good and the music was nice. Lots of Klondike fun for those who aren't prone to shy away from the frustrating challenge. I hated having to miss out on the Adventure level. Obviously, I need to brush up on my skills!
I rated 3 stars for the CE considering that some folks aren't bothered about the same things that I am. However, in the SE demo, seeing the same aggravations again I changed that. This poor quality is not the norm for Seven Sails!
So after playing 3 scenes, each one a struggle to complete, I can safely say this game just doesn't make the grade. This style, similar to Gardenscapes, should be lots of fun! HOs are too tiny, too dark, unrecognizable, the scenes have big dark areas. Multiple clicks to pick up an item and way too many hints were needed to complete levels. I was totally annoyed that except for a few items I couldn't avoid using hints. That is awful, at least for me!
I played the SE demo just to see if I was being fair in my opinion of the CE. The game might be appealing to those that just find these issues an extra challenge and have more tolerance than me. Seven Sails is a great dev and has given us lots of great entertainment. Maybe next time they will do better! We are so starved for good games for such a long time now!
Even though I quit buying, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Twistingo, imo. I just can't justify spending $$ over and over for simply a new batch of images. The graphics, color, games are wonderful. Always glitch free.
I do own the first two of the series. The original is very enjoyable and is better than the new ones, with extra tasks and also clean-up project after the storm. But for me there has to be more than beautiful imagery to keep me interested and entertained. Without some challenge and something new, boredom unfortunately happens!
Other than easy money involved I don't see the reasoning behind cookie-cutter games. Most of us get so tired of them and just quit buying so where's the payoff in the long run? Is it really so hard for a dev/game designer to put on their thinking caps and get to work on something DIFFERENT?
Anyway, I recommend this game as it is very appealing visually and the variety of games is easy fun. I always enjoy each of the demos. Many folks are just into the relaxing feel of it and many just want a break from all the HOPAs. Twistingo is a good way to wind down!
Or maybe I'm just not thinking clearly today but this seems like a really good game, for a change!!
A different murder mystery for each chapter puts a new spin on things. That added more interest, less boredom and an incentive to want to continue the game, to see what's coming next. The graphics are excellent as usual and there is more character presence this time, more facial expression, more vocal emotion, lip-sync is near perfect.
So those pluses made the demo enjoyable with more than just the tasks and those didn't even annoy me as much this time. However, I did not like the instructions with the + items. I want to do everything by myself. It's certainly not hard to figure out. I feel that the game will be very easy, partially based just on that + item feature.
For me, there's a comfortable amount of HOPs and puzzles. Too many puzzles and I end up skipping at least half, in any game. So this was a positive factor in my opinion of this game. I'm looking forward to them because the ones in the demo were fun and very creative. I think they will prove to be not the run-of-the-mill types that we see all too often. The first HOP was really good but too lengthy, for me, and I grew tired of all the back and forth involved. With more patience I surely would have loved it.
I wasn't held up by any glitches and the demo was quick paced, also plenty to keep boredom from taking over. The usual Domini format is still a boring part, imo, as in all their CEs. It would be great to see some changes there and also with the Match 3.
I still don't feel that Domini is the best dev, just because they put lots of HOPs and puzzles into their games. These are HOPAs that are supposed to include ADVENTURE too and there is not enough story in any of them, ever! Usually too many tasks and puzzles, imo.
Still, "Killer Popularity" did warrant my attention and my demo time was better than expected. My curiosity about the murder cases keeps me interested in continuing the game. I would purchase right away if not for the sale restriction placed on new releases. Sometimes budgets are a real pain!!!
Looks like this game will be fun for everyone, especially with several cases to solve. Hopefully the Bonus Chapter will not be a continuation of the old cases. A new mystery perhaps? And that would make for a very good CE all around!
Well, I think this game is cute, silly, fun and, most importantly, different. A big step out of the box when we need a change so badly. The last couple of years haven't been kind to us, imo, with so many cookie-cutters, HOGs, few hits and too many misses. So this really caught my eye!
I selected the "Boogeyman" soundtrack. The graphics are excellent, I love the artwork and colors. The character is in dire need of sleep and it shows! Your goal is to get him into bed by taking care of all the things preventing that.
The levels went quickly at first, leading me to believe this was a piece of cake. I soon found out that the objectives aren't so obvious, lots of clicking and thinking about the situation as you work against the not-so-generous clock. Click the never-still bat so he doesn't reach the timer or lose 5 seconds when he does. The VERY short "Help" is a must read.
Shop for hints with the coins earned. There's a cool little wardrobe assortment including hairstyles for our Sleepyhead, unlocked at different levels. Win achievements in an atypical way which I've seen only a few times in some of my older games. I like it!
The game is challenging but not overly so and the levels can be replayed. Thank goodness, especially since there's a timer. The screen can move a little to the left and right, there might be something there to help you complete the level. There's a bar to the right, a bit dark for seeing some of the items easily, but they are kept there as collected and waiting to be dragged to your intended location. Then it's lights out and time for bed!
I really did enjoy this game and intend to purchase right after my review is submitted. I'm always waiting for a game to come along that is entertaining in a different way, and isn't complicated or dark AND is not a CE which I can rarely afford these days. "Let Me Sleep" may not look like a winner to many others but for me I'm willing to take a chance on what looks like a good time.
as Jerry the chimp and his fellow shipmates land on a deserted island after a rough journey. They quickly get to work building their new home while completing all the objectives that are in the way. The graphics aren't as cute as I usually see in most TM games.
I own a few and seldom play them through but this one seemed simple enough for me. I'm definitely not an expert at them but sometimes a change from the HOPAs is needed. However this game is too easy to want to spend much time with it.
The gameplay went smoothly, collecting resources was quick and abundant. Obstacles no challenge, the wild boars not challenging as they were immobile until I employed the Warrior, then they promptly disappeared after a little bit of running away. I earned 3 stars in each of the first 3 levels. Only 1 star thereafter in each of the next 5 but it didn't matter to me. There are 37 levels. My demo was quick-paced, very easy but that might change later on.
Not being a CE means TM fans can save some money for a change! Everything seems to be a CE these days regardless of the sparse content and so-so quality. I'm not buying the game, not enough going on to keep boredom at bay, but others may enjoy helping Jerry and friends get settled into their new "Home Sweet Home".
I lived in Buffalo, NY before becoming disabled and was blessed with many beautiful road trips through eastern parts of Canada. What fantastic photo-ops!
These puzzles reflect areas/territories I am unfamiliar with, some are very nice. However, I feel TLL has once again fallen short with the animals, scenery and landmarks in regards to variety and interesting images. Many just remind me of images in so many of their other puzzle collections.
The features/options are always great and as usual I love the piece shapes and the colored backgrounds, too. I liked the third music piece that was available, the first one sounded out of place for this particular set of puzzles. The graphics weren't great but colors were very good in some of the scenery images and most everything in the Others category was bright and colorful.
It is another nice offering from Tiny Little Lion if you love collecting all the countries and enjoy the variety of categories offered. For me, not interesting or colorful enough. This dev is still one of my favorite's even though this game will not be a purchase.
This game fell short, for me, but others may love it even with it missing the Christmas deadline. It's kind of a busy game with goals to accomplish as well as 14 achievements and earning enough to buy Christmas decorations.
The boards are very dark, icons not especially attractive and the brown tiles that had to be removed from underneath them were very hard to see. Everything other than the Christmasy tiles didn't show up well on the dark boards at all. There seemed to be plenty of obstacles and power-ups and bonuses, also shuffle. I had to use the ? for a hint several times to find remaining brown tiles.
For me, furnishing the room was definitely not enjoyable. Other than the tree and sofa there were no significant items that I could see in the shopping lineup. The items were small and not very colorful, the decorations were cheap. The tree and other items were very costly. Too much so, for as unattractive as they all were! You can choose where to place everything, but I didn't want to do any of it because it was so drab and just not fun.
I did complete the demo and the game became more challenging in later levels. There are several play modes. I chose Moves which made the gameplay less boring. There were no glitches in the demo. So it's nice that the game will be bug-free, hopefully, for purchasers.
A Christmas game like this should be cheery, not dark, and not grinchy with its room-decorating feature. The CE promises a bunch of extras but I don't feel the game is entertaining enough or attractive enough to warrant the extra $$.
It has piqued my interest! According to the title and synopsis it should be awesome. The graphics in the beginning are stunning with the giant floating turtles and they remained beautiful throughout the entire demo. My trial time was visually very enjoyable. Characters were nicely rendered in appearance but voices weren't very good.
The demo ran hot and cold for me. I loved that the tasks weren't as daunting as usual and it included a couple of characters. Emma was helping in the search for Richard which led us through a vortex, meeting the king of an outer world. That was all good and seemed to be leading to some fun action and interesting sights.
I thought the HOPs were difficult because the list items had no resemblance to the items found. It required too many hints which is never fun for me. Also many items were VERY well concealed. That should be a good thing, I guess, but in this case it just slowed the progress to a snail's pace and was annoying. My patience only goes so far! The games were all enjoyable. I definitely preferred them over the HOPs, average challenge in both Easy and Hard Modes. Except for one, they were all new to me.
The collectibles came with the helpful pull-out tab. They weren't easy to recognize in addition to being very small and in dark areas. I hit on them purely by chance rather than actually seeing them. What to do next wasn't always clear but I didn't mind that kind of challenge. I can see where this might be labeled a very long game if all this keeps up!
My demo ended shortly after meeting the young king who was acquainted with Richard, claiming that Richard was working there but hasn't been around for a while. More mystery to uncover and the story seems promising at this point, but I'm always skeptical with Domini games. They usually don't follow through with the promised adventure. I most often find them over-run by tasks and little of the story surfaces which includes a very abrupt ending. That is why I quit buying Domini games in recent years.
I am quite interested in "Ride in the Sky", however. Egypt, other worlds, archeology, disappearing people, floating islands on giant turtles, beautiful graphics. It all seems like a great adventure is ahead. If this were eligible for a sale price I would pick up the CE this time. I'm unhappy with the new rule regarding prices/new releases like everyone else. Waiting to enjoy new/recent games is not fun, certainly isn't right, imo, and is it really paying off for the devs? Hopefully my interest in the game hasn't waivered by the time it is available on sale.
And, I'm left wondering, how is it that internet is available in "off-the-chart" locations, especially in the world of floating turtles? Ah, the marvels of technology!!
but unfortunately I have to wait for it to be eligible for a sale price. That new policy really perturbs me! If you love M3 building games, this a fine one! There's a lot of reading and character dialogue but most can be skipped, though I chose not to. I enjoyed the story, filling me in on what was going on. As the game progresses there is less of it.
The very helpful tutorial and other info, including achievements are kept in a book, easy access at top of screen. Scores and goals are shown at the end of each level. The graphics are extremely nice and boards are big and colorful. Icons aren't very attractive but, more importantly, they are big and easy to see, nothing covered in darkness.
It's a busy game. Lots of goals, power-ups, obstacles keep it interesting and you'll find a need for using strategy in the later levels. That's always something I enjoy a lot. I've played other M3s like this one, long ago. I'm sure you'll find the gameplay familiar. I remember them being much more fun than most of what we get these days.
I enjoyed the entire demo, trying each of the game modes. Of course the challenge is much better if not playing the easiest mode but the relaxed version was enjoyable, still providing a decent challenge to reach your goals. The coins earned are used to build the village. It was fun and I liked how everything worked. You can move left, right and around the entire village area with the arrows at bottom of the screen. An outstanding feature!
I certainly have nothing negative to say about the game other than I felt it unnecessary to go back load each new level. Not a biggie but it bugged me.
