It's not your typical M3 game and the difference will keep you busy and entertained instead of bored. When the CE was released I picked it up for the 60 extra levels. It will definitely last me through Halloween, me being a slow player.
Great quality, good challenge, excellent features, build a village, variety of fun games, interesting characters/stories. It is really nice that the SE version arrived before Halloween so everyone can enjoy this treat without the hefty price tag.
The graphics and artwork in this game are so very beautiful. A visual treat. Turtle Bay plays just like the previous two editions and it doesn't contain enough extra content for it to be labeled a CE. But I played the demo to the end and enjoyed every bit of it.
I like the variety of games and the large, super colorful graphics are easy on the eyes. The objects are interesting and very pretty just to look at. Turtle Bay would be my choice of the three if I didn't already one. No need for another that is identical except for the theme.
Fun and relaxing, easy gameplay. I believe the SE is the better choice with enough to keep you busy, without stretching your budget for the CE.
or wait for it to be on sale after Halloween. This is a big negative for many gamers. All games should be included in current sales, imo.
The scenes were darkly colored, had plenty of Halloween objects laying around. I enjoyed the objects that came to life when clicked. They were really a fun distraction from all the tasks. Again Domini fills the game with too many tasks and that is what makes the game slow and longer than it needs to be.
I had trouble locating the collectibles in the darkly colored scenes but somehow managed to earn a couple of achievements. The first HOP was quite difficult because the objects related to the clues made no sense to me plus they were nearly impossible to find and some were also unrecognizable. I do not like using hints. But it was a great challenge for those who have more patience than I do. It would have been a treat for the M3 game to be Halloween themed, for those who prefer it over the HOPs.
I thought the characters were very well rendered and the voices were good. The Halloween motif everywhere was fun to check out and there were more animated objects than usual in this game. Nice graphics with appropriate colors.
This CE is no different from any others from Domini. Same format, same number of collectibles, nothing to increase the interest or fun. There may be a good adventure here with the mystery of the disappearances. But I won't find out because my demo froze up twice in the same balcony scene and my only way out was to shut down. That was enough time wasting for me!
Hopefully Domini fans who don't mind paying the CE price and who love Halloween will have fun with whatever is waiting past the demo.
about what will happen when Boomzap runs out of animals to find! Will they just stop making games? Or will they come up with a brilliant new idea to keep them from drowning in a sea of repetitious, boring games?
I still regard this developer as one of the best and these "I Love Finding" games were cute and fun for a good while but too much of a good thing spoiled it all, imo. It shouldn't be difficult for such a talented dev to create a game that involves something other than critters and more critters. So many of us are just bored to death by now and need something new and refreshing.
I quit supporting Boomzap games only because there's no point in spending $$ repeatedly on games that are all the same. Hopefully things will improve and get back to good entertainment sooner than later!
I love every puzzle in each category! That's a first for me with this puzzle series. The puzzles are so pretty, nice colors, interesting subject matter. Usually I find just a handful that appeal to me but I do own a couple of Just Puzzles.
These are really nice images in this new collection, many are just lovely with soft vintage colors. It's nice stepping back in time and seeing something that conjures up a few warm memories. There's a nice assortment of cutout styles and puzzle sizes, and a good variety of features and options. They all make puzzle assembly more fun and your choices can increase your challenge. I find the Classic style puzzles more relaxing than the Mosaic.
This collection is a definite purchase that I know will please me, right down to the very last puzzle!
For me there's too much going on and too much to keep track of, and plenty of reading with instructions popping up as you play. But I love it for the challenge! Even after I figured out what to do I had trouble reaching my goals. Strategy is an absolute must to succeed! The tools and bonuses are aplenty and were of great help once I learned where best to use them.
I liked the match game and HOP in the demo, minimal challenge but still enough fun. The building was affordable so I was able to purchase 6 items and had fun placing them where I wanted. However they were dark and pretty small except for the houses. Some were so little they really didn't add any extra appeal to the village. But building was still enjoyable with the features and options that were offered. I don't think there are enough items for the entire game though, unless you can buy duplicates or you build the village at a very slow place to keep from running out early on.
I would like to buy the game but since new releases are prohibited from special sales, it will be a no-go for me. And I'm afraid that when it's finally old enough to qualify, Halloween will have come and gone.
The new sale policy is a rotten idea, imo. If it was designed to make more money I think it's defeating its purpose. The devs are losing out on early sales and if gamers are prevented from the sale prices, that just isn't going to work to anyone's advantage.
I will purchase this game but unfortunately have to wait until I can get it on sale.
I own several Halloween Stories but this one was boring. The demo was just task after task. very short encounter with the villain, nothing frightful about his appearance. There were 2 other characters who showed up briefly.
Graphics were dark, mostly Halloween related stuff laying about, nothing special about any of it. Collectibles were so difficult to spot, especially the puzzle pieces, I finally just gave up. Everything was dark, items often unrecognizable. It was hard to figure out where to use task items, resulting in using hints, and because also just didn't make sense. HOPs were challenging due to the objects being quite small. in dark areas and didn't exactly look like what you would expect. I didn't like that. The puzzles were a good challenge and much more enjoyable than the HOPs.
I wasn't at all impressed with this game, at least by what the demo presented. The pre-game warning was not necessary, imo, I can't imagine that anything of great horror would be in a game from Elephant Games. Maybe later the adventure kicks in and becomes more than vague tasks and the action finally materializes. It held no interest for me but will probably be a very fun time for Halloween fans. Hopefully there are some scares in it that are always expected in this type of game.
how difficult is it for a stellar developer to create a fun, enjoyable game that doesn't have cookie-cutter written all over it?? I no longer buy these games because they remain redundant and no one cares about quality entertainment anymore. I see no reason to continue purchasing. Just play the ones you already own, there is no difference.
Boomzap isn't entirely at fault for this overabundance of HO games that have lost their appeal. Big Fish can either yay or nay them and that would solve the problem! Unfortunately it seems both parties are content with how things are.
Tiny Little Lion has sadly fallen aside from the quality that made them so popular. I guess money and laziness is the new norm for Big Fish since changing ownership. As I see even more of this trend in the games these days I question whether it is worth continuing my membership. There are just so few quality games to choose from and now we can't even take advantage of a good sale on new releases.
If she's real I hope she always escapes capture. I played the CE demo and the SE version and had to change my original 3 star rating to 2 stars. It was just, honestly, no fun.
The HOPs were a nightmare for me because the items were so difficult to see, almost invisible really. Especially the runes on the Nessie sculpture and the collectible constellations. There was a variety of HOP styles but each one was the same vision challenge. The puzzles were a good mix, average challenge, I did enjoy them.
The story piqued my interest and might provide a fun adventure if you're a Nessie fan. But I hesitate to believe it will turn into a good time. I can't play a game that requires so many hints because of such poorly designed HOPs. It's just too frustrating. Also, getting to the adventure in the demo never happened. This is another disappointment from Domini for me but may be a super game for others who love this dev no matter what.
These trips become less and less amazing when there are so many of them. They all present the same everything. By now it is so "been there, done that"! The games have lost their appeal and interest for many of us.
I think Amazing Trips is a really nice game for its fans and those who haven't tried it yet. I own a couple, they were fun. But purchasing more of them is just wasting $$ on something no different than what you already have.
